It's all done and wow it's definitely a good 5"-6" higher. Worth the effort big time. I'm still playing with the WDH to get it where the trailer sits just a tad tongue heavy and the truck sit as level as possible. I think I'm close but not 100% sure. I will post pictures if someone will give me a heads up that would be great. I read all the "JohnB" threads I could find so I have a decent idea. Just want to be sure it's safe and done proper.

Hey John, I know how to post pics just need to do it from my computer at home. I'm always on the road and use my cell phone mostly. I'll post the pics soon as I'm in front of my computer.

I just want to be reassured I'm setting up my WDH properly.

Thanks,
Adam

If you need hitch adjusting help, we are glad to help.

Tell us fender heights on the truck,

Truck only, (no camper) ground straight up through center of wheel to inside fender at the outer body area. Do front and rear. Note: the left and right side may be different and that is normal in most cases. Mark which is which when to record the heights.

Hook up trailer, hook up WD and take fender heights again.

Check the camper for being level and declare, if tow ball coupler is high, level or low and by how much at the ball.

Post results of fender heights and camper levelness.

This is best is if this is done on hard surface ground, the hard surface is flat and level, the truck and camper are loaded with stuff ready to go camping.

Also helpful so we can see what you have and the setup:
Take a pic of the side of the WD hitch when hooked up, spanning front of camper box to truck bumper pic. Kneel down and shoot straight on the hitch. We are looking for how it is setup. more pics are always better from different angles.

Hope this helps

John

Okay I'm home for just a minute. Here is a quick pic I took just after finishing the axle flip. I know it's not great but you can easily see the height difference.

I will try and take all the pics of my WDH set up this weekend.

We're considering doing the axle flip on our 2363 this spring. Approximately how much clearance will we gain doing this? (Other than adjusting our hitch, is there anything else we need to be aware of when we do this?)

Matt....I didn't do mine..never had a problem with it (my 2363 had the V shaped skid bars and they never scraped in ordinary conditions)...and you know I traveled a lot!...but I can tell you it also raises the distance up to your step to go inside....and that would have been a huge problem for me since I already used a portable step to get in. Check that out first!

Had mine done. Probably gained 3 necessary inches. Did have single step replaced with a double step though. Need a double for current trailer. PO did axle flip and never changed step. Last step down is a long one. Currently using small collapsible step.

I gained maybe 4"-5" and I also use a portable step. Thinking about getting a double step installed but as of now portables work fine.

We think we gained 4". Our dealer charged something under $300 to flip them. (But that was 2008 ) We needed a portable step after the flip, which was a little bit of a pain if we weren't on a totally level site. But it was totally worth doing!
