T 1950 Mods

We finally added the Rock Guard that we had been wanting to do for awhile:

Sometimes you just have to help create shade so we added a Dometic Awning.

The T1950 doesn't have many places to hang your towels so we added a bumper clothesline that disassembles and stores under the bed.

Nice job! We love that bumper clothes rack so much I had Mr. Tweety mod our new Fox (that has an integrated bumper) to accept it. I even use it at home now and then if it's a nice day and I want to dry a few things outside

I like the rock guard. I did a few searches with the usual RV places and came up empty. Where did you get it?

We had our factory installed rock guard (it's not tough enough to stop equilizer wd bars....long story..just don't lower the jack while they are leaned against the a-frame!!!!) replaced at:

Custom Coach
8332 Pulaski Highway
Baltimore, Maryland 21237

(T)410.687.7200
(F)410.686.1486

But, they or any RV place should be able to order the materials I'm kind of surprised you haven't been able to locate it.

I bought the Diamond Plate, had it cut to specs, and put it on myself. It wasn't that hard. I bought it in St Louis but I am sure you can find somewhere closer. I have $60 in it installed.

Thanks, I thought someone would have them already made up but I guess not all campers are the same dimensions. I need to find a local source for aluminum angle ect. for another project so I'll check around. Shipping would be a killer I suppose due to the size.

Very Nice work
I, too, especially like the rock guard
We'll be hauling our t-1950 thru Missouri next month on rte to SW for the Winter. Since you already know the exact dimensions think you could install one for us on way by

Nice job Jim. On the diamond plate, did you take the siding off or go over the top of it?

I have seen it done both ways and both have come out well. Just curious on yours

I put it on top of the siding thinking that I would have less chance of a leak. I tucked it under the siding on the top and used clear seal down the sides and across the bottom. I took the screws out across the bottom and put new screws in holding both the siding and diamond plate together.

I which my pictures would of turned out bigger, I guess I resized them to small.

Thanks Jim. I'm thinking n how I want to do mine. The stone dings sure hit this area.

On the pics, use 640 x 480 and around than 50 K they come out well.

Jim,

Ah, now that looks nice! Like the WD bars hanger too.

Thanks for getting the bigger pic.

Yes, a very nice job indeed
Notice you have different stabilizer jacks on your 1950 than ours (BAL)
Do I need an appt to stop in & have my rock guard installed or do you take walk-ins ?

Nice additions to your T 1950. Wher did you get the hooks to hang your bars for your weight distribution hitch? Did you make them yourself?

I bought them at Home Depot, they are sold as rafter hangers and work great as they keep my WD parts out of the dirt and way. I never had to do anything to them.

The stablizer jacks are (BAL) but I guess just a different style. I am not real happy with them as the trailer still has some movement.

Nice job on the install. We got a nice dent on the front of our camper last trip so I think its time to install a plate on the front.
