Sunny 14s' new parking pad

Does a new parking spot for Sunny 14 count as a mod????? Hopefully here are a few pics of Garys' hard work.

WOW.... OK 2 questions

1. What is the "Sunny 14" stand for? Sunny we know but 14??

2. OK is the road level or the camper? Or is the camper tipped to drain the roof? I think the camera is playing tricks on us.

I must say Gary moved a lot more dirt for "Sunny 14" then I did for "The Camper 2". However I think we both used the same stone by the looks of it.

Thanks for the pics. It pleases us curious types....

John

If I remember correctly, the "14" in Kitty's Sunny 14 has the same meaning a the "2" in your Camper 2.

Wasn't her 2499 "Sunny 13"?

Good Morning SOC,

Well, it sure has been VERY busy around here. Between actual mods on the Sunline and the major site work for the parking pad.

Now, I'll try to answer some questions:

Kathy,

The carport for the 2499 is being converted into an enclosed garage so Gary has a place for his "Waste motor oil (WMO) filtering system and garage/shop for vehicles. Hopefully we can get Sunny 14 a carport in the not real distant future.

JohnB,

The 14 represents this being my 14th, yes 14th Sunline Long story but most were private sales when folks made me offers too good to turn down, and I knew Lee could find me another Sunline (that was then, not so willing to sell for a profit now)

The Camper is dead level, the road is not. It's a beautiful place to live, but not for a camper. Gary has so many hours of labor in this job, and what's worse is that he had to do a lot of it twice, as the first plan didn't work so well. Sunnys' tires now sit on top of 7 railroad ties, surrounded by large stone. We need more stone, but that will have to wait a bit. We can now plug into the 30 amp power source I had for Sunny 13, but Gary is going to redo that too. Will have to get a saw, cut thru the blacktop and run larger pipe and that will provide power, water & cable to the site (don't think there is a way to connect to my sewer system darn it) In the future we plan to get more RR ties and build a retaining wall around the dug out area. OH, that thought already makes me shudder to think of the hard work Gary will once again be doing.

Mack,

You were correct as to why this is Sunny "14". I guess calling the 2499 "Sunny 13 wasn't such a great idea, should have skipped the "13" Oh yeah, we will not be your neighbors at the Rally next year, I had to move us to a longer site, the 2499 & my truck were maxing out the site (#88 ) as it was, think we are now on site #112.

Stayed tuned, as I'm sure there is more stuff to take place, as I know I want to get to Lowes for a new bathroom sink faucet

Gary also made the stacks of treated lumber for under the rear stabalizers that can be left on site when we go camping. The boards are fastened together so they should work pretty well.

Kitty

Kitty:

Don't know if we're going to make next year's M&G. The last two years we have had to skip Ray's Cub Scout Graduation Camping trip because it ended up the being same weekend. Of course, this past year we didn't make it due to the doggie escape artist. We're going to try and get him to graduation next year.

No. 14 I take it you have a brand passion or addiction... that most of not all of us had not made it to, yet… You may be the record holder on SOC of the most owned Sunny’s. I know we have several close contenders but I think you are in the top spot.

Living on a hill….. Well when we moved here to Ohio I remember saying the biggest hill I could find in central OH was the exit ramp… However if you drive south about 1 ½ hours rolling landscape and ravines appear. Back in NYS we use to live on top of the mountain and could see all over. Every thing was on a hill…. My Uncle use to say, well you can fit more fruit trees on a hill… and so we tried for sure…. And, winter was “sporting” getting up and down that mountain…

It looks and sounds like Sunny 14’s new home is shaping up to be quite the place. Did I read “cable” as well!

Have fun with the “outside” mods and keep us posted.

John
