Are you starting from scratch or was there a radio there to begin with? The white wire is a ground (-) the black wire is a (+) on the camper.

Hi well there was wire there to install a radio along with speaker wire in the ceiling . from the factory as there were still stickers on the ceiling stating they were there . I've jerry rigged the stereo now and just have to tidy it up . this camper has been a learning curve . from leaks galore to wiring nightmares , but it's finally coming along nicely

Bad wiring does not happen by itself sounds like someone has been there before! My camper had no radio it too had stickers and wiring in the ceiling with the excess inside of the cabinets long enough to wire them to the truck radio! As it was I did not use them ended up with high end bookshelf speakers.
