Renovation of 1997 1550 trailer
I recently purchased a 1997 PlayMor 1550, which from everything I can find, it is basically the same as and a Sunline 1550.
Though the trailer was in fairly good condition, I decided to do some renovations. Once the renovations are complete, the trailer will be attached on a 30’ flat bed and will be carried along with my Jeep.
My to do list:- Not sure it the water heater works, but I am replacing it with a LP on demand water heater
- I’m replacing the galley countertop with a new one and removing the LP stove. I rarely cook in the trailer and will use a portable 2 burner stove with an LP quick connect.
- Install new flooring.
- Remove the existing main bed/couch and build a permanent bed with storage under it.
- Replace the fan in the bathroom with a Fan-Tastic vent fan.
- Replace the dinette table.
- Add some storage shelving
- Add a TV
- New cushions and fabric
- I will list more as the build progresses.

Water heater Removal
I have the new water heater ready to be installed. But I have to run down and get a few parts and then I will start working of that step.

Looks like you're doing a great job! What kind of flooring did you put down?

Peel and stick tiles from Lowes. I sanded the existing linoleum and put the new tiles over it.

like the girard water heater up-grade for sure, no winterize by-pass needed!
being a tankless you will need to get a large water tank for the endless hot showers ! I hear you only use the hot on the faucet to regulate temp, no cold.
the higher the flow thru, the lower the temp.
let us know how it works for you.

I've been a little busy lately. Hopefully I will get back to work soon and post some more photos.

..JEEP, : Enjoy the pics & the changes for your usage.. We just got early 80's 15 ft & are changing back the permanent bed layout that you need.!!
Prior owner was a carpenter & guess he went out of state for some employment..
. Not sure which end of your trl is the MAIN BED.? You say you are changing the dinette table. ? Just for a different surface or will be secured under mattress.? .I also like the color / idea of the floor tiles... We do not have a shower, thus no water heater.. My other good boat friend who goes to Fla for a winter month has the comment, that since they pay for a campground , they always use the shower bldg, & not dirty their bath .?
. My cycle racer neighbor put a instant h2o heater in front of his enclosed cargo trl & praises the install.

Sorry for the delay in answering .... I have been lazy and just got back to working on the trailer..
I am leaving the dinette mostly intact. I will remake the table and cover in fresh laminate then recover the cushions. (not sure what else as of yet).
The other end is what I am currently working on. It has a couch/bed under the bunk bed. I will post photos of the base I am working on. It should give me access to stoarge when completed and be very sturdy.

Looking good Jeep,
I see you have mastered the Kreg jig putting those screws in. They sure work well.
Keep up the good work.

Good call on the Kreg. I have been looking at them for a long time, and this project gave me the excuse I needed to finally buy the thing.
Love it.

It's one of those tools that once you have it you don't know how you got along with out it. So simple why didn't we invent it.
