Refridgerator Lock Mod

The lock on my Dominic refridgerator door was broken and would not stay closed while traveling. The plastic tab at the top of the frame broke off, leaving nothing to engage the catch on the door.

I went to Home Depot and found a quick and inexpensive fix that works pretty well. I used a patio door lock that installed easily. Only $6.75... much less than a replacement unit.

The hook is attached to the wall, and the catch is mounted to the side of the door. The holes for the small screws need to be pre-drilled into the aluminum edge.

Works well and very secure.

We have very similar locks holding the sliding doors on our bathroom and the doors that divide the bedroom and main cabin on our T-276SR.

Nice solution to the problem. I am a real fan of "lowest cost" too.
