Question Refit with Larger Grey Tank??

Looking at a 2007 2363 and wondering if the small 25 gallon grey water tank can be upgraded to a larger tank?

My 2363 grey tank seems to just about fill all the mounting space. It is also not very tall but I don't think anything taller would fit and still match the blackwater pipe to the common discharge fitting.

Bottom line, a definate "I don't know".

Well I doubt if it changed in 2007

What I do not understand is why have a 40 gallon fresh water tank and a 25 gallon grey? My T-1950 has a 25 gallon and its almost 5 ft shorter. The T-2499 is almost 2 ft longer than the 2363 and has a 35 gallon grey tank. I really wanted a bigger grey tank but this camper is super nice too

Thanks Gene

I think that the easy way would be to use a portable holding tank. No modifications, cheap and easy to use.

Your right. However, it's in Maryland and I am in Texas right now. I posted a thread asking if anyone was near Elkton, MD and would be willing to look at it for me but so far apparently no one does. The earliest I could get out that way is June for the Buttonwood Meet and Greet

Question

Gene,

I was thinking about this and the 2007 2363 is 4ft 4in longer than my 2005 1950 yet has the very same grey and black tank sizes. What is taking up the extra 4ft 4 in so that a bigger gray tank would not be possible?
Does floorplan have anything to do with it??

My guess is that the designs are more about weight than capacities. I mean the capacity is designed for certain water/waste weights and that placements are more about balancing weights on the axles. Otherwise they could have made the entire frame a holding tank divided for different uses. Adding a bigger, or another tank, would be like adding a rack to the rear bumper or that bike rack to the front tongue and be weight that is not designed for and out of place.

Just another idea.

Joan,
I just looked at some old pictures I took when I first got my 2363 and had a crack in the grey drain line as it exits the grey tank. Being new at this game back then I was still learning about ABS pipe and the proper way to repair it so I took a few pictures. There is the main frame rails that run front to back on each side that limits that dimension. There are also smaller metal rails that go side to side, one in front of the grey tank and one behind the tank. the tank itself sits just above the axles. There is a few inches of space on the front and back of the grey tank. Given that, it may be possible to get a custom made tank and have someone fit it in that space. The total volume you might gain would be 6 feet wide by 5 inches front to back by 5 inches high which is about the height of the existing tank. Total volume gained would be about 1,800 cubic inches (72x5x5). 1,800 cubic inches = 7.7922078 gallons.

I should amend my previous post to say it could be done with a custom sized tank and new drain piping.
