Privacy Doors
Hi again,
Has anybody removed the bedroom 'privacy doors' and replaced them with a curtain or otherwise? I was thinking that instead of having those big huge doors, it might be much better to have the 'hospital curtains' (the curtains on the bottom, with mesh on the top) for ventilation, etc. but they would still afford privacy.
Whatcha think?

Hi Alice,
I've seen quite a few remove the doors. In fact, there was an '07 264SR at the Buttonwood M&G in 2007 and the owners were interested in selling it, so we all went over to take a look. They had removed the doors, but put nothing in place of them. I think the curtain idea sounds wonderful, especially if you could get one in another color or if the standard color matches if you have Fern Blue.
I'm not sure if you could be able to use the same track, but if you can't, once you remove the old track, I see no reason why the new one couldn't mount right up against the ceiling where the old one was. That way, if one day you decided to put the full doors back on, you'd never know the curtain was there.
You could even take the latch piece off to hold the doors in the folded position and replace it with some sort of strap to hold the curtain so it wouldn't take up a lot of space.
Jon

Jon - that is exactly what I was thinking. Boy, great minds think alike, now don't they?
But I would definitely want something to hold the curtains in place when we are not using them, because there is nothing worse than curtains blowing around all over the place.
Now, the search is on for hospital curtains, in a sage green color to match our upholstery. If I don't find them, I will make them next year when I have access to my household sewing machine. I don't want to work too hard this year, we just plan on enjoying our tt before we make any major modifications. Nothing like living in it to find out your wish-list.

Hey Ron, Cindy and I left the door between the kitchen and the bathroom on our 2499, but we took out the sliding door between the bedroom and the bathroom and replaced it with a simple curtain.
Great idea with the hospital curtain! One of the only things we disliked is that the curtain blocks much of the heat from one room to the next
I guess I'll be on the lookout for some Hospital curtains
Check out this link to see if they might have what you're looking for

Removed the doors on my T264SR & will replace with a curtain this spring. Much easier to enter the bedroom area without the doors

Good idea especially if there's only the two of us. I'd remove mine if I had any.

We removed the bedroom doors on our 2004 T-264SR, but haven't bothered to put up a curtain. We do have an expandable tension rod to hang a curtain on if we do have overnight company, which is very rare. We really like the openness especially with the front window view.
We installed a store-bought coat rack with 4 hooks on the bedroom wall that the doors originally covered. Makes a very handy place for coats & hats.
We've kept our door to replace whenever we decide to trade it in.

Between the bedroom and bathroom of our fifth wheel, there is no door. Kitty fashioned a curtain out of a thick sheet. It is hung on a spring-tension rod and the top of it has built-in ventilation. Kitty did a great job on it and it looks great!
If anyone wants pics, she'd be happy to have an excuse to go back in Sunny!

It is a rather heavy flat sheet, hung on a spring tension shower curtain rod. I was able to place the rod down about 3 - 4 inches from the ceiling so it does provide air circulation.
It provides "visual" privacy for the bedroom. That way "if" Gary has not made the bed, I can hide it, HAHAHA
