Smile noiseless generator

Here you go. For those that don't like the sound of a generator.

It's like something that the professor made up on Gilligan's Island! Maybe we could convert it to a treadmill and force our pets to run on it....like the Jetsons. Dangle a little bone in front of their nose. I have a Chihuahua...how much can he generate? Can Mama curl her hair yet? Faster Precious, faster!

That's great! Lose weight as we are making something delicious in our crock pots.

"We recently got a stainless steel percolator - it makes one smooth, strong cup of Joe."

Sounds cool....does it get grounds in your coffee?

Not so much and that can be totally prevented, we are told, by using a regular small filter and punching a hole through it to fit on the percolator stem. We haven't tried that yet b/c we haven't really noticed much in the ways of grounds in our coffee. Only downside according to husband is that it takes a little longer to brew than drip.

(From the mentions of "Gilligan's Island" and "The Jetsons" in your one post I surmise that we are probably close to the same age.)

Wannabe,

You are certainly spoiled when you get fresh ground coffee made by someone else when you are camping. He is a keeper!

Maybe you do not get grounds because he is manually grinding the beans and it is a bigger grind than the preground purchased coffee??

The manual perc. sounds interesting. How do you know when it is done?

Anita

Yeah, he's definitely a keeper!

Matthew said you're right about the grind, he grinds the coffee coarser when he brews in the percolator to reduce the fine sediment in the bottom. Basically, after it starts perking it takes from 5-7 minutes for the coffee to brew, depending on how you like it, and then it's done. You do have to keep lowering the heat during that time. What takes a while is for the water to get hot enough to start perking. (Remember the old Maxwell House commercials with the percolator jingle.) Matthew did a little experimenting with the time in the beginning but now, if taste is any indication, he's got it down pat.

By the way, the percolator we bought is quite nice looking so it gets to stay out on the stove here at home.

Yes I do. It took me some time to find that jingle online. Loved it and "no matter what shape" also.

Solar panels to coffee grinds to jingles....where next?

Wannabe,

Thanks for the link, I have bookmarked it. It certainly is reasonably priced. FYI: They still make percolator filters and you can purchase them at the grocery store.

Bunjin, yeah, errr....lol
