Microwave question for T1550 owners

Good afternoon,

I want to mount a small microwave in the cabinet under the stove. I am able to fit the microwave in the cabinet with room for ventilation but I need to figure out a way to secure it so that it is not bouncing around. Has anyone else done this? If so, do you have any pics or advice? Thanks in advance for any input.

Tommie

I did in an old Toyota MH but it involved drilling holes in the microwave. Alternatively you could fit a piece of thin flat iron over it and screw it to the base of the cabinet.

Don't know if it would apply in your situation, but I have one mounted atop a metal cabinet in my work van. I removed the screws securing its rubber feet, drilled holes in the top of the cabinet, and then ran screws up through the cabinet top, the rubber feet and into the bottom of the microwave.

After six years and several panic stops, it hasn't budged.

Thank you gentlemen. I actually just finished test fitting a piece of board that I was going to try to attach to the microwave and then screw the board down to the base of the cabinet. Sounds like a combination of the two solutions. Unfortunately, there are no cabinets to put the microwave on top of so one of the lower cabinets will have to do. The base of the cabinet is made of the same luan as the walls. The only support is around the edges which appears to be 1x1s. So I am trying to add more support. It shouldn’t take much. The microwave is pretty small.
