JT Strong Arm stabilizers installed on Sunny

I finally downloaded the pictures of the JT's, that have been on the camera. Once I read the instructions, they made the fifth wheel VERY stable. There is still some wiggle in the rear of the unit, but I think I'll have to live with it. Trailblazer also has JT's on his fifth wheel and still has some wiggle in the rear of the coach.

On to the pics...

Since I have the generator permanently installed in the front compartment, there was nowhere to put the slide side arm's mounting bolt. We came up with a unique solution.. A square steel tube. The lower holes are just large enough for the bolts to fit through and the upper holes are large enough to fit a 9/16" socket..

The square steel tube is bolted directly to the frame rails.

The steel tube doesn't stick down very far and works perfectly!

The other front bars are bolted directly to the frame.

The rear bars mounted to the frame, right where the BAL scissor jacks were mounted. The scissor jacks had to be removed.

Here's how they mounted to the electric stabilizers that I installed.

As you can tell by this pic, that jack pad is in the corner where the A/C water was coming off the camper.

I figured I got a good deal on these, as well as a complete roof inspection/re-caulk and a new scare light installed... All it cost me, was the 78 Sunny that we never had time to work on....

Nice deal, Gary!

I had the JT Strongarms installed by Lippert on my Heartland Big Horn this summer. WOW! What a difference they made. You are right, it's critical that you follow the setup instructions for them to make a big difference. If you don't "bump" the power jack like they suggest, it doesn't really engage the Strongarms.

Hi Gary

Nice looking mod. I have not made it to mine yet. Work is on overload here lately can still catching up on my SOC reading...

I also see what looks like corrugated siding as you underbelly cover. It is an alternative to the Coroplast. Maybe a better one.

Nice addition Gary. To fully take advantage of these, is it best to back the jacks off slightly to put more pressure on the arms?

Actually, you need to do the opposite.. Here's #7 of the setup instructions...

7. “Bump” the electric jack switch so the jacks lift the front of the coach very slightly. This
eliminates the play (movement) at the bolts and bolt holes between the stabilizers and the
coach.
