Home made bedslide

Excuse my English, I am French but I will make my possible.

Hello everybody, I am new here and I find your forums very interesting. There are lots of tricks, tips and very useful ideas.

I would like to share an addition that I made to my pickup, a bedslide.

As I pull a Sunline Solaris T1950 the box of my truck is very useful when we travel. But I had enough to have to climb in the box of my truck to get to my tools or camping stuff. A commercial bedslide was a good idea but too expensive, so I made one.

1- I made the guides on both sides with 2x4 and fixe then to the box, this prevents the tray from moving.

2- The tray is made with 2x3 and covered with a 3/4 plywood.

3- There are 15 two inches wheels under the tray.

4- A rope with a hook connects the tray to the end of the box to prevent it from going too far.

5- The trick is to have always two wheels at the same time on the tailgate to avoids the bedslide to fall between the tailgate and the box.

I put the heavy things in the back it stabilize the tray.

The price 125,00$ CDN, and four houres start to finish.

I hope that will give ideas to others.

Normand

Great job Normand, thanks for sharing your idea and pictures.

I'll remember this one; it's something I've thought about doing myself.
You've come up with a very simple and practical design.

Hutch

PS - welcome to the club.

It’s great having a bilingual member that even posts bilingually, that’s so cool

If we ever get to Montreal I’ll have to hire you as our interpreter
