"Grilla my dreams!" or How do I make this grill work on the T-1950?
Our adult offspring preferred their Weber grill to the Sidekick Grill that came with their new rig so they offered it to us. It came with a nifty, swing away bumper mount grill arm assembly which is currently attached to the 1950's rear bumper. I have added additional rectangular U-bolts to both bumper mounts to help support the additional load. Here are some stock photos culled from the intertubes...
As referenced in so many other threads of this type, there is a capped off propane pipe ahead of the wheels on the door side of the frame, beneath the coach. I am hoping that based on what you can see here or at the link above, you guys have an actual clue as to how to safely make this equipment operational.
Here are my questions.
- Can I remove the cap from the pipe with a couple of hefty sized pipe wrenches without destroying anything?
- Once removed, what parts do I need to find to add a shut off valve, quick connects, pipes, hoses, etc. to get the propane smoothly delivered to the grill at the rear of the camper?
- How can I determine if there is propane flowing in the pipe?
- If there IS propane in the pipe, how do I determine if the propane flow from the camper is sufficient to operate the grill?
I will learn the physics involved if necessary but all I really want is a list of parts that I can screw together so that I can cook a burger. All help, including links to Home Depot/Lowe's parts will be appreciated.

Aha! I kept digging and after running into one dead link after another, I found a post with the info that I need including live links.
Finding & Installing an outdoor stove / Post #7
I wonder if JohnB ever sourced the rubber end plug to put in the quick disconnect to keep road dirt out?
BTW...That Google Custom Search For Sunline Owners Club link in JohnB's signature is a lifesaver!

You can also try this web site for parts to connect your new grill to the LP gas line on your trailer.
CALORE EQUIPMENT
This is where I bought my parts to hook up our Weber Baby Q to run off the trailer's LP line.
Here's a protective plug for $2.50 and a protective cap also for $2.50
Hope this helps.

Thanks, John. When I originally posted this thread, my thought was that I needed to hard pipe the propane all the way to the bumper but putting something permanently next to the wheels had me envisioning a blowout tangling up and ripping out the underbelly with flailing gas pipe.
Plus it was easier to quick connect the easily stowed rubber hose.

Hi Dig,
Just FYI, I have learned along the way and seen on my own rubber gas hoses, that LP gas in the rubber hose over time extracts an oil I think from the hose itself. Again, overtime (think years of use) the oil builds up and will drip out of the hose when unconnected.
After seeing this and then researching it, if the rubber hose is left in in contact with LP gas long enough the oil can spit out into the appliance it is hooked too. I never yet had that issue, but the 6 ft hose I use on my portable grill and outdoor stove top off a LP tank does drip the oil out all over when I store the hose. It took about 5 to 6 years to show up, and once I drained it all out, it did shut up for a while. It comes and goes now.

I'll keep an eye out for oil. Thanks for the tip!
