Extra threshold added to shower?

Is there supposed to be a square 3/4 inch plastic channel on top of the shower threshold? It kinda looks like it was added by the PO. It's not a factory looking caulk job. Is it just the molded basin threshold down there from the factory or do all T-2499 have and extra piece on top?

Our 2499 has a 3/4 inch square piece which the sliding shower door or curtain is attached to to keep it in line and also keeps the water from leaking onto the floor. The caulking wasn't very good on mine so I recaulked the entire shower.

Attached to? My shub door opens and closes just behind this piece, but it's not attached in any way. The piece is a "C" channel, open toward the shower. The Mylar just kind of glides behind it. I suppose this extra piece was to provide more of a barrier against splashing water getting under the door, just wasn't sure if it was factory. Now you have me wondering if mine is set up correctly?

Ours T2499 and our T310 had/has the C strip. It is like you said, the shower film slides in it. The caulk job was bad so I redid it. I "think" there was an attachment by where the door coiled up and maybe 1 screw on the open end. The rest was held by the caulk.

I'll see if I have some pics up the server. If not this weekend I can take some of the T310. It has the same setup

Here are 2 pics of what mine had

The "might" be a little roller or some kind of door frame attachment that slides in the channel. You can barely see it. I'll look at the original of the pic

Edit edit edit. Mine does look like this last picture above. Perfect. Mine just needs to be recaulked, its loose, and water seeps through it as the door slides back and forth. The caulk was so bad I was convinced this was an add on. I know what I need to do now. I also think my little roller is missing, the door edge just kinda floats above it. Thanks again.

Hmmm, like that magnet idea too.

Here is a close up of the sliding door attachment to the C channel.

I'll have to look at the T310SR this weekend to recall exactly how it works. It is only the sliding door frame that glides in the track

Yeh, the caulk job was bad and mine was brand new. I had to lift it in the center, apply caulk and then press into place.

Thanks everyone. I'll get into it tomorrow. I was testing all the systems today and wasn't happy with the way this looked. I'll get it right now that I know what to aim for.

I fixed it all today thanks to the guidance above. There was a small clip on the backside of the roller that was popped off and the roller was just parked in the track. Once I lined it up I clipped the roller back onto the leading edge of tbe door and it works as it should. I ended up scraping out all the old
Caulk to the point the track came loose. So everything is all cleaned and all brand new caulk installed. No fasteners on that track, just a bed of caulk then a bead on each side. Came out great. Thanks everybody.
