Dry Shower
We love our 1982 Sunline 15.5 SB but we do not like the small wet shower in its side bath. We therefore decided to add a dry shower.
Except for a little trim and the shower curtain its done. This was no simple task in our 1982 Sunline 15.5 SB. We took about a foot from the driver’s side dinette and extended the bathroom out a foot. The door now mounts on a slant, connecting from the new shower to the one-can deep pantry. The blue tape represents the proposed walls.
Before picture.
We ended up having to move the draw under the dinette towards the front. As well we rounded the corner of the table to make it easier to get into the driver’s side dinette. Since we installed a domed skylight over the shower, we had to move our satellite dish from it's recommended antenna position to the front center of the trailer.
Door closed
You'll note we had to round the corner of the table to make access to the dinette easier.
Door open
The shower is small about 2x2 feet but adequate.
The walls of the shower are ¼ inch plywood with 1 inch thick closed cell foam laminated to it. The interior of the walls is a modified tub surround made of vinyl and laminated to the foam.
The pantry to the left of the bathroom door has four 6 inch wide doors. The pantry is floor to ceiling and capable of holding everything except our paper goods. Paper goods are stored in the bottom of the hanging closet, our former 4 shelf pantry.
In this layout I was able to use the existing shower drain.

Like all one-time projects once you finish you know how to do it next time.
After the solar panels the next project will be a ten gallon water tank.

1st neat upgrade. Thanks for sharing. But what is the “dry” part as oppose to “wet”?
On the pic posting, this is what your are still not doing exactly correct.
This was your first attempt and it will not post here on SOC
Before picture.
Reason is on photo bucket you selected the wrong link address. You selected the IM and Email link. SOC does not work with that link on the open forum.
If you would of selected the IMG link it would look like this. There is a i863 in place of the s863 and that make a difference on the photo bucket site.
I put this in “ " so it will not post and left the [ ]'s off the ends of the command you can see the right message.
“IMG]http://www.sunlineclub.com/forums/attachments/photobucket/img_78601_1_94d163e37ff7c60a6bbfeebf174c6421.jpg[/IMG”
Now when you finally got it to work you where using the right IMG code link but then you put this Alt P thing after it and it is not needed. Just use the IMG code out of photo bucket
Here is the pic, no quotes and no Alt P just in the IMG code from photobucket
Hope this helps
John
PS Also if you keep the pics no larger the 640 wide they will not scroll the screen over. It gets hard to view sometimes on long posts.

Wet vs Dry
I call the original shower a wet shower because everything in the bathroom gets wet, much like a small boat shower. I call this a dry shower because only the showeree and the showeree get wet.
As to 640 pics, I took the first picture, blue tape, before i considered number of pixels. Thanks for the info, I'll take some pics of the solar panel this weekend.

The tiny "wet-it-all" shower in the 1550 is the only thing I would love changed in mine. You're very talented and good working with wood.

Norm,
That s great! You have done some great work with your TT. I wish mine looked so good. I'd like to hear about how you worked with the laminating in the shower. I was considering turning my "closet" which was a former water closet with no shower to a shower. I currently shower in the middle of the floor in my 1977 15SC.

Ray,
I'll send you a private email within the next two days that describes how we made our shower enclouser.
Beyond it's use as a shower my wife loves the new openess of the bathroom, the brightness provided by the huge skylight and the small amount of move around space.
The solution was not to expensive, I quess around $200.

Thanks Norm. I will miss my hanging closet but with some rearranging I am sure I can figure something out. I will have to plumb mine into the gray water tank though. There is no shower currently. Maybe I can do something with the black tank.
At some point I want to gut and redo but it works well for now. The new "lightweights" are all so heavy. They are only light in carrying capacity. This weighs 1645 when empty. New ones are listed at close to 3000 empty. I don't find that desirable.
