"Cool" air conditioner!

One might wonder why something so simple, was not adopted by the RV industry. Perhaps there wasn't enough money in the spare-parts industry for it...







This was featured in the August, 1950 Popular Mechanics. I wonder why it didn't catch on! It's just so aerodynamic!

Evaporative cooling wouldn't meet alot of people's expectations once they are used to modern air conditioners. Also, it doesn't work so well in high humidity like down here in FL.

Ahhhh .... a "swamp cooler". I hear they work good in low humidity areas like Arizona.
