Well guys, wiring all works, but is kind of a mess up front. It's been raining here all day, and I am not about to re-wire anything today. Tomorrow might be different.

Here's some pics of stuff up front. I think the Bargman thing wire is wrapped around the trailer frame. Also, the wiring looks kind of funky. I have 20+ feet of 7 wire cable in my shop, wonder if that would be enough to just rewire the trailer, get a new 7 pin plug, a new Barkman, and do a nice neat job? Trailer overall length is a bit under 16', just not sure if 20' of cable would do the trick.

Thanks guys!

Frank

You really do need to check the wiring, when you can. From the pictures I see the breakaway switch is turned wrong. The pin in the switch that the cable is fastened to should be pointed towards the TV. Did you have to use both plugs at the TV?

Enjoy that rain. Bottle it and sell it to Florida.

Frank, do you have a larger version of the picture, "bargman.jpg"?

Yes, all the pics I post are generally 800 X 600 pixels wide and 100kb or less as that is what is allowed here. I have them in the computer in 3648 X 2736 and this one is a little over 2mb. Usually they're between 2 and 3 mb.

Like JohnB says, we all see different things in pictures. In this case, I'm eyeing that VIN plate...

Thanks Frank! Is that hidden digit at the end a 7?

Sure enough, it is a 7. I get a new breakaway switch and/or clean the wires off that one, and I can get a better pic. Got title in hand to get registration today and be legal!

Bargman line?

After unwrapping it from being wound around the trailer frame...

Should I just get a new one, or do they all look like this?

Thanks!

I'd replace it, the cable should have an "eye" on it to be attached to the tow vehicle. I'd also mount it so that the key (attached to the cable) can pull straight out of the switch.

Again the whole idea is if the trailer would come unhitched, the cable that is attached to tow vehicle pulls the key out of the switch, applying power from the trailer battery to the trailer brakes.

Excellent! Thanks Mack.

We'll be down MD way in mid August, but not with our Sunline - have a condo rented at Ocean City, right on the boardwalk for a week!

My family had a park model in Fenwick Island, DE. just north of OC for many years.

Spent many a day with the Aunts and Uncles at "Six on the Boards" an ocean front condo at 19th and Boardwalk. Typical boardwalk, lots of tee-shirt shops, food stands, amusement park rides, and such. Ocean City has beautiful wide white sand beaches that are very well maintained. The beaches are cleaned every night by tractor drawn "sifters"!! Lots of great eateries, nite life, and other things to do. Take a day trip to Assateague Island (about ten to fifteen minutes south) and see the ponies.

We've stayed closer to Assateague Island a few times, but I forget where. Did it with the kiddies back in the day with a tent. Kiddies are now 28, 31 and 35...

I've never been much of a boardwalk fan, and as a guy that thrives on 5 a.m. risings, probably won't see much night life. I'm there for the beach and the best french fries I can find, and some good eateries for dinner... Looking forward to it!

Enjoy your day,

Frank
