Been busy with the camper this winter

My wife and I really like our "new" 2499, but there were a few things I thought could be better in the storage deartment, so here's what I've been doing this winter.

From the first time I saw that tip-out panel under the sink, I knew it had to go, so with relocation of the heating ducts and water lines, I was able to get enough room to make it our utensil drawer.

The sink drain was still in the way of the next drawer down, so it could be extended on the left side only.

The third and bottom drawers are a nice depth now.

I never like having to get down on my knees to look for a pot or pan, so this slide out makes it easier to see what we have.

That open space in the corner cabinet got a tilt-down panel.

So we can get to the lazy susan inside.

After attaching the center divider to one of the doors for the lower storage area, I added two slide-outs. One that pulls straight out.

And another that slides at an angle.

Thats the storage mods, next, a divider between the sofa and stove (like Sunline probably should have done).

Hi Rich,

Nice mods!!! I see you took the center stile off the doors and attached to one side. Sure make it a lot easier to get in and out of the cabinet.

Did you add the metal draw guides on the sink drawers? Ours did not have them, they had plastic slider pads with a center guide to steer the drawer. And a lift up and over feature so they would not fly out when towing.

Thanks for sharing

John

Hi John,
Yes, I wasn't sure which door to mount it to, but so far, when I go to open the doors, I seem to open the right door first, so mounting on the L/S door has worked.

Our 92 2470 had that drawer setup also, I guess Sunline kept it for quite a long time, but the 2499 had the metal roller tracks. Of course, I had to change them to longer tracks to accommodate the longer drawers.
Sunline mounted catches below the drawers to keep them secure during travel.

Rich
