Battery on/off switch relocation

Sunline mounted the battery on/off switch on the frame header behind the battery which is a kind of difficult place to reach it since I installed my vinyl stone shield. Can longer wires be substituted for the short ones that would allow the switch to be relocated further outboard on the header?
Any reason the switch should be close to the black box on the header?
Thanks,
Rich

Yes, it could be moved further out.
No reason to be close to black box.
You want the cables as short as possible but adding two to three feet to move the switch out to the edge is not going to hurt a thing.

Just make sure the wires will carry the load. At 12 volts the voltage loss rises pretty quickly with length so factor that in when you move the switch.

When did Sunline start putting the battery on/off switch on the frame rail? I don't think I have one on my 1999. Anybody know?

SunlineFan or JohnB will probably know for sure, but I think 2003 was the year they started putting them on.

JohnB is on a distinguished road
The disconnect started with the 2004 model year. It was one of several upgrades that occurred in that model year.
