Axle Flipping - how?

Any place I can see about this "Axle Flip" I keep seeing mentioned here and there? Just curious...

Steve Collins is an unknown quantity at this point
Check the Dexter site. They have good info on the "flip" even if your axles are another brand.

JohnB is on a distinguished road
I know we have more pics of it here of many but these are the ones I could find.

The the last post on this link by Tweety. She posted pics of the axle seat mod

This post has some links to the Dexter site

I did a search here on the forum about axle flip and it did take me several pages to find this oddly enough. The search is pretty good but one deos have to dig.

Basically you are moving the spring pack from under the axle to over the axle. There is no axle flipping

Hope this helps

John

Flipping axles - we did it on our T2553 and it was great --- height is great when going into and out of all those gas stations and driveways --- we added a 2 step outside step on the front - but not the rear - as we seldom use the back door.

the trailer is a wee bit more bouncy then but still tows great.

now we had our tailer company flip it - but after seeing it - it didn't look to be too difficult - but a welder appears necessary.

Flipping the axles was mandatory for us to get in the driveway and to drive comfortably in the mountains. I honestly think it tows even better as far as going down the highway too. It lines up the bottom of the truck with the bottom of the trailer better. No change in gas mileage.
