I wasn't sure about them being illegal so I checked our local sports supply places including our Canadian Bass Pro and Walmarts
They're very much prevalent. I found nothing under any Canadian Law about being illegal. However, that's not to say where they are safe or not. Like anything else they have there place and maybe a little commonsense to be applied.
I actually used mine today in the shop for about 5 or 10 minutes just to kill the dampness and chill. Those things should be used sparingly and cautiously
