Adding Shelves
Hello All,
We descovered on our trip that the cabinet next to the bed needed shelves. So off to Home Depot to pick up some 1/2" Birch plywood (no maple to match) and a piece of pine to cover the end. Cut to size, glue on edge and sand. I had some stain laying around that matched the cabinets quite well, also had some maple that I cut up for braces. A little varnish and here she is!

Here is a couple more pics, the one is showing the stain Birch and how close the stain matches to the Maple doors- not bad for stain I had laying around!

Nice job. One question......how did you attach the braces? I need to put up shelves as well.

I used wood screws. On the left (rear of wall of camper) I found a stud, in the corner I angled the screws into the corner hoping to hit the corner stud.
On the right I screwed into the cabinet wall, it isn't solid as I assumed it would be, it is hollow and I hope the screw will hold properly driving down the road. There will only be the weight of clothes, so hopefully it will live. Or I may need to put anchors in????
Only time will tell!
Don

Nice job on the shelves. We added pull out draws in ours next to the bed and then put shelves up top over the bed.
It is amazing what that little shelf organization does to help the problem of digging through everything find what you are after.
Yes, I too found birch as a good compromise for the maple panels.
Thanks for sharing.
John

Kitty added some shelves in our F-311SR and was able to do it without drilling any holes.. Here's her post about it....
