It was 108 in NORTH DAKOTA when we were there. People say dry heat isn’t as hot. That is baloney LOL We have a 9000 BTU A/C unit which will run with our Honda EU2000. That combination was a life saver. Before we retired and started traveling I would have never thought of a/c as a necessity. After that 108 degree experience I’ll never go without it.

I haven't been able to find a roof A/C smaller than 13.5BTU. Does anyone know if they still make a 7k or 11k like they used too? Probably not much difference in price anyway??? I'm still leaning towards adapting my window unit somehow. I hate the thought of spending $700 or better for something I"ll barely use.

Our Lance has a Dometic 9000, but it looks like the newer ones have a Dometic 10,000. I don’t know why they changed it since the smaller one kept our little trailer nice and cool inside even when it was 108 outside.

H'mm I wonder if they stopped making the 11 K BTU unit

I did find it on a few sites in the shorter Penguin series. This is the roof unit.
Dometic 640312 11,000 BTU Penguin Low Profile Air Conditioner. This may be limited inventory as I do not see an 11K one even show up on the Dometic site. Sort of like when they phased out the older Brisk Air units when the Brisk Air II came along. May have to call Dometic to figure out if they stopped making the smaller units.

Dometic 11,000 BTU Penguin II Low Profile Air Conditioner Top Unit Only

Hope this helps

I have seen small Japanese motorhomes with mini splits really neat installs may even be small enough to fit in place of a propane furnace they would heat and cool how come we are so far behind the rest of the world on innovations?
