1983 Restoration - Bland to Bohemian
My wife and I have always liked color and whimsy. So, when we bought a used 1983 Sunline travel trailer, we decided right away to completely redo the interior with brighter and cheerful colors.
The dark wood finish was primed and painted over. The dated fabrics were removed and replaced. The peel and stick tile floor was replaced with faux hardwood.
We were trying to achieve a look similar to what one might expect inside a gypsy cart, and I think we accomplished that.
It's definitely not boring. LOL.

We camp with a large group that mostly all have new travel trailers and 5th wheels ranging from 30 grand up to 60 grand... Funny thing is when we are all parted together most people walking around are more interested in our little 1989 Sunny we renovated instead of the big new ones, lol... And the best part is we don't have large monthly payments, LOL...

People are funny.
They see a small trailer in a campground, on the road, etc., and they think "Oh, what a cute camper! Can I look inside?! Look at everything it has!"
Yet so many of those same people "upgrade" their few year old trailer to an even larger one after going to an RV show and seeing all the extra space they can have.
Nothing wrong with it, it's just interesting how people are, and it keeps the industry alive.
I could put either of my brand new looking (for their time) Sunlines right next to a small 15' 1960s trailer painted with house paint and a brush, the interior smelling of covered up water damage, and people will give nearly 100% attention to it and not even give mine a second look.
Of course Airstreams and Avions are exempt from that, because the people are naturally attracted to shiny things, of any size. Until they try to function in one and realize how little storage it has.

I love it! Very nice. I don't like bland, either. (In my house, one guest bedroom is "the paisley room". That just might make me "boho".)
Today I committed to purchase a 1983 Sunline. Along with a thorough cleaning, all the cushions, drapes, etc., need to be replaced. Did you do that fabric-related work yourself, or where did you get it? I'm working (more than) full time so I don't know when I would ever get to the sewing project. Can you (or others) point me to a good source for cushions, etc? And it would be a wonderful bonus if they are not boring!
