Hello Split,

and thank you for the welcome! Nice trailers in the pics both of em!! Looks just like mine Big job yes but I love seeing something all the way through to the end and reaping the rewards

I will definitely be getting something bigger very soon. I will always keep this small one to pass on ta one of my kids. The fact that it is small is what I like about it most.

N Yes that was where the small crammed spot for potty was, time for some customizing and making a wee bit more room along with a shower head in there

I am currently residing in Elmont, Long Island, New York originally born and raised in Queens New York. Elmont is only 15 minutes from Queens my old neighborhood. Gonna move out of this area very soon looking to get a piece of land off grid n hide till the good lord calls

Thanks again for warm welcome!!!

Good evening, Hope all is well with everyone. Up until today everything I shared has been working on the back/ tail end of MY 1980 Sunline 15' SC trailer. I have been so busy with work also it has been raining the last few days so I finally had the chance to get in there today after work and start the front end. Getting there slowly but surely.

Only thing left to remove is the fridge and heater and on ta removing the back wall first to rebuild the entire wall over and fix any dings, dents, or damage on the skin while it's off.

I found some surprises today like a hornet nest or something and more mouse poop along with a Mouse nest behind and directly under the heater, and a dead dried out mouse! This trailer was a health hazard, from mold to the above mentioned. Nasty!

I have decided to go with a compost toilet so I will be removing the waste tank that taps into street lines from my trailer in the image attached. I will keep a water line for attaching to city/ street lines for water if needed. I have not put a penny in her yet n already I'm a G deep, hey guess goin ta the bathroom in style gonna cost lmao!!

This is the toilet I chose.

Urbanlex - I have a question for you.....you have stated many times that you will be looking for a larger TT.....if that is the case - why would you want to spend the money for a composting toilet? Are you planning on removing it when you sell?
Did you realize that the urine holding "bottle" is only 2 gallons? What do you plan on doing with the urine waste on an almost daily basis? Trust me I'm not saying not to go green....just asking!

Furthermore if you remove the black tank the next owner would not be able to "return" to the normal TT toilet application......just something to think about!

Hello Poppy,

please forgive me, TT means Tow Trailer right? If so yes I will definitely be getting a bigger trailer or truck camper. The trailer I am working on now 15' SC will not be sold by me I will pass it down to my children but they may sell it if they like so u do have a point.

It is funny cause I have been wrestling with the idea of removing the black tank in toilet area for a while that is why It is still there now lol! I may leave the tank in just as an option. yes the composting toilet urine holds 2 gallons that is correct I do all the needed research before I buy (I didn't buy yet) How hard is it to get rid of some pee especially less then 2 gallons at a time?

Getting rid of some urine can't be half as bad as cleaning n disposing of the STANK portable potties like the one that was in there. Cleaning them makes me gag every-time ewww!

As of now composting is the way for me cause I do not use trailer parks or camp grounds to hook up to any water or sewerage my idea of a good time is where there are no humans around at all so hook ups are out of the question.

Heck when I was young n my uncle would take us into the mountains to camp n all I can remember is, when it was time to go to the bathroom u grabbed a tree hung your butt out and went to the bathroom in a hole u dug.

You have to remember this project/ trailer is being customized to my preference/ needs no matter how you look at it $$ money $$ is going to be spent n sunk into the project. I know I could save the money and buy bigger trailer with it but I don't want to, what I like most about this trailer is the size. My next choice/ purchase will most likely be a truck camper instead of TT cause I can tow the Sunline 15' SC as well.

Thanks for taking the time n stopping in n sharing your opinions I appreciate the input.

Urbanlex, please don't take me wrong I forgot you said you were building for your children.....that puts a different spin on things......I was thinking of resale and what you would "need" to get out of it to cover your expenses......whole different situation now!

Keep on building away!

Appears to be a 15' SC.

Click the "FILES" tab at top of this page. Then Click on the brochures tab and go to the 1980 brochure. Click "DOWNLOAD". Enjoy.
Looks like mine. I found a paper in the cabinet attached to bathroom wall facing the couch. We are going to use ours with electric cause the gas is disconnected & I will buy another bigger one when I retire. Yours is in better shape on outside but for $500 I'm satisfied with what I got. It has a workable toilet & the electric works.
