Western Maryland M&G May 18-20, 2012
Instead of flooding the Forum with information, I thought I would create a website just for the Western Maryland Meet & Greet.
It can be found Here:
Western Maryland M&G
It is a work in progress right now, but it does have some information.
We went to the Rocky Gap State Park Headquarters and spoke to Lisa about our plans of holding a small event there. They gave the go ahead. The only bad thing is we have to make our reservations on our own as soon as possible. They can not hold the sites for us, due to the state wide reservation system.
But I think we can make it work. This M&G won't be a big production, but a place where fellow SOC members can get together, and enjoy camping in the mountains of Maryland.
Please voice your thoughts and opinions here! We will also be adding more information to the website.
Thanks!

We're in...we took site 14 for 3 nights - arriving friday and departing monday I thought I'd mention that with Memorial Day weekend the very next weekend it might be necessary to make reservations really early for this M&G. I can see people making a really long weeks vacation by taking this weekend and the next long weekend, and the campground getting booked up early. Thanks for organizing Mary Ann! Your website is great! You really could be doing that as a business This should be a sticky, as well as placed in the "upcoming Sunline M&G" box on the right.

Great! We will add you to the list.
Your right about the reservations...it is best to reserve early. It is a popular park. Even know last time we went we fell into a cancellation...but they are rare.
I will try to get more details and information up as soon as I can.

Kitty and I are in for site #12.. Arriving Friday and leaving Monday. Thank you both, for being willing to take on the task of organizing this M&G! I think it's great, that we'll have another chance to get together with our fellow Sunline owners/friends.
I also love the idea of the M&G website! The forum is great for talking to each other, but the M&G threads tend to get filled with a lot of chit-chat and it gets difficult to keep everything straight. The website keeps all the most important information in one place and very organized. Neat and tidy!

Thank you Gary! I am going to keep the website updated daily. Those were my thoughts exactly. Plus I want to get pictures up, and I know some that have a slow net connection and they might take longer to load.
I have added you and Kitty for site #12
Anytime we can get Sunline friends together...we will have a good time!

Barb and Rich,
Great to hear! I have added you to the list!
It looks like we are making progress on filling up the backside of Ash loop.
Thanks,

Rich & Barb, and Kitty & Gary...Glad you can make it!
We tried to do the cycling when we were there this month, but the weather didn't cooperate. Instead, we took the Western MD Scenic Railroad ride, which made for a nice day. You can see the bicycle trail along side the train most of the way, and the trail is really nice. We hope to do a bike ride during our stay next year!

I am keeping an eye on reservations made at Rocky Gap for the M&G weekend. Is any SOC members in Site #15? I just wanted to check so I can block it out on our list.
At this time there are still plenty of sites available, but they are starting to reserve fast for most of next year.
I will work on getting pictures of each site up on the website today. That way you have a good idea of what the site is before reserving. Or if you have any questions..please let me know!
Thanks,
Mary Ann

That's a really good idea! Everyone always asks whether a unit will fit on a site or not...I can't think of a better way to show it!
