Any M&G around southeast Pennsylvania?

Hubs and I live in Lancaster. We are Thousand Trail members and plan to camp at Hershey RV Resort pretty often. Anyone else interested in meeting around this area?

The closest one to you would be the Buttonwood M&G in Mexico, PA, north of Harrisburg, and that's in June.

The next closest would be the one at Shenandoah River State Park in VA, and that happens in October (and sometimes May as well).

I imagine if you started something closer to you, there would no doubt be interest. The hard part is you have so many around, but many are set up as seasonals.

Well I will have to give it a try, maybe in the spring when camping picks up. I'll keep Buttonwood in mind. Thanks!

KKINPA - I can also tell you from experience, if you post something and pick a campground, people will come!

7 year ago a group of us decided on the ADK M&G, I think we started with 7 - we now have around 15 coming this year.....

It does not have to be anything special, a place to meet, have a fire, maybe an ice cream (or in our case this weekend, hot toddy) gathering and a pot luck dinner on Saturday night!

Don't be afraid, go for it!

Do you think people would be willing to go to a Thousand Trails campground? They are now open to the public, you don't need to be a member to get in. I love the TT Hershey RV Resort. It's a really nice campground.

Don't know about Thousand Trails...I know all I think of is a sales pitch when I hear Thousand Trails....but put it out for feelers......when are you thinking of having this?

Can you book specific sites, or are they assigned???? Are all the sites @ $50.00 per night - when I went to the web-site that is the price I got for next weekend!

That will make a big difference, you may want to talk to the park and see how they could/would work with a group!

That is a really nice campground. We went there with my dad years ago. We would consider it if you'd be welcoming SOBs $50 is high but most campgrounds offer a 10% discount to groups.

Please let us know if you are thinking of a Meet & Greet there. If we know a date early enough we could try to meet everyone there.

Would there be any interest in having a M&G in the Denver, PA area? Since the Sunline plant was right there on South Muddy Creek Rd., it would be like a "homecoming" weekend We stayed at Shady Grove CG over the Labor Day weekend and it was nice. We also visited Sill's CG which is nearby and it was OK. There is lots to do in that area and we look forward to going back.

All TT and OW sites are first-come, first-served. No assigned sites, which has good and bad points. I think the going rate for non members is around $50. Hershey is worth it, though!

I like the idea of having a M&G near Denver. There are lots of other really nice campgrounds in this area.

Agreed, but most on this site don't want to pay that. Makes it hard to plan a meet & greet when it prices most people out of possibility.

We would totally be interested in attending a M&G in or around Southeast PA! (Coming from NJ) We are really new at this but we are totally looking forward to seeing some new campgrounds. Let us know how the planning is going!

That and the idea of not having assigned sites. If you got 10 - 12 members there - and you were spread around the campground...it would make it hard to sit around and talk to everyone (I'm assuming that TT is a rather large campground).

I do know that at Rochester & Adirondack M&G's - we try very hard to get all the sites reserved near each other. And depending on how many people are coming, you may want a site reserved just for activities, camp fire, eating, meeting! With Rochester & Adk, we share the expense of the M&G campsite!

Just saying!

I realize I am new around here but, may I suggest Montana

I just joined this forum and began reading threads.
While Montana might be a ways for some to travel, we've got plenty of room to camp

Montana Campgrounds - A Campground Directory

If that doesn't work, you could always use this website.
The Quickest, Easiest Way To Search, Browse & Reserve North America’s Most Popular RV Parks

I'm new to all of this. Last time I went camping was in the Boy Scouts back in the 1960's !
I would love the chance to meet new friends !
