WHEN: June 21-23, 2013

WHO: You! We'd like to see as many members as possible! Family & friends are also welcome to attend.
WHY: Because you want to meet other Sunline owners who have a common bond as well as learn more about your coach!

I know there was some discussion last year about moving locations, but I understand someone already made a reservation for next year, so we'll go with this.

RESERVATIONS: Contact Michelle or Tim Wilcox at (517) 437-7005. Mention that you are part of the Sunline group. We stay in the pull through sites, though you can reserve a back-in if you wish, but it will be farther away from the rest of the group. PLEASE POST IF YOU'VE MADE A RESERVATION HERE, along with the site number and nights you'll stay, so we can keep track of who is coming and for what days.

RATES: The rates for the pull throughs were $39/night in 2010. Back ins were $39/night in 2012. Rates will probably raise slightly for 2013, so make sure to check the website for the latest rates. There are also electric only (cheaper) sites available, but these are away from the group area as well.

DISCOUNTS: I believe Gateway accepts the usual type of discounts, Good Sam, AAA, etc. Again, check with Gateway for the most up-to-date information.

ONLINE RESERVATIONS: You may make online reservations, but make sure to include that you are part of the Sunline group in the comment section.

MEET & GREET ACTIVITIES: We usually have community pot-luck meals and community campfires together on someone's site. They are rain or shine, because Gateway has an enclose recreation hall available to us in case of bad weather. Otherwise, we have coach tours, maintenance how-to's, emergency repair help, and just general meeting and greeting. The atmosphere is very laid back and enjoyable, so attendees are welcome to do participate in as little or as much as they want.

THE AREA: The area has interesting things to offer. The main draw to the area is the Michigan International Speedway, which is about a half hour away. We chose the weekend here based on it not typically being a race weekend, because getting reservations at the park is difficult then. Other area attractions are the City of Hillsdale, Hillsdale College, and the City of Jonesville. Both cities, especially Hillsdale, contain a lot of history. Both cities contain some good restaurants too.

SHOPPING: There is a Wal-mart about five miles away for all those forgotten items. They also have food there as well. There is a Tractor Supply across the street from that too. It is located just south of Jonesville, between Jonesville and Hillsdale on M-99. From Gateway, take Hallett east to Lake Wilson Road (about 1.1 miles), then turn north on Lake Wilson Road. Take Lake Wilson about 3.5 miles, where it will dead end into a stop light and M-99. Continue across M-99 and into the strip mall parking lot containing Wal-Mart. If Wal-mart doesn't have what you need, the closest big city with the large box stores/malls is probably Jackson, MI, which is about an hour away. Depending on the store, you might find it in Coldwater, MI, which is about a half hour away. There is an RV dealer in Hillsdale if you need a part not available at Wal-mart.

Hi, Everyone,

We just got our comfirmation from Gateway RV park. We understand from our conversation with them that we will probably be on site # 22. We will be arriving early, on Wednesday, the 19th, and departing Monday, June 24th. Looking forward to seeing you all there.

Just a note to all after I spoke with Michelle tonight. Since we've moved the date to after Memorial Day, Gateway requires a one night deposit for all reservations between Memorial Day and Labor Day. Just thought I'd throw out the heads up.

I don't know about the other Ohio members, but we take 23 north to 223 to get to Gateway Park. Here is another good reason the Midwest Meet & Greet dates have been changed. I saw this in today's newspaper:

U.S. 23 construction set between U.S. 223, Sterns
BLADE STAFF

A U.S. 23 reconstruction project for which preliminary phases were done last fall will get started today, the Michigan Department of Transportation announced.

Traffic will be reduced to one lane each way between Sterns Road and U.S. 223 while a barrier wall is set up on the southbound side.

Once the wall is in place, two-way traffic will be established on the southbound side while the northbound lanes are rebuilt in that area. Work is expected to last until late May.

Later this month, work will start on U.S. 223 at the interchange, which will require a 14-day closing of the entrance ramp to southbound U.S. 23.

Dan's Excavating, Inc. of Shelby Township, Michigan, is the contractor for the $12 million project.

Since we are setting the Sunny up on a seasonal site this year we will not be taking her to the Midwest M&G. We are planing on driving up for the day on the 22nd to meet everyone though.

Hi, Everyone,

Wanted to pass on that our plans have change, just a little. Originally, we were reserved into Gateway on Wednesday, but we will now be arriving Friday afternoon, instead. We still plan on leaving on Monday.

Any word, yet, on food selections for Saturday's meal ?

Sounds good, Dennis. Haven't thought about food yet, honestly. At this point I'm focusing on getting the trailer downstate, which I will this weekend!

I'm planning to get to Gateway sometime early afternoon on Friday. I'm taking the day off.

Anyone have ideas for food?

We will be bringing Calico Beans. A very delicious
concoction of different beans, hamburger, and BBQ
flavoring. Some of you may remember them from
last year's M&G.

Ah, thanks! I don't come in until tomorrow though. Probably going to leave around noon or so. I am mostly packed, but I do need to put clothes in tomorrow as well as hook the water up.

I'm planning to bring a delicious cole slaw too!
