2009 Buttonwood Aerial Photograph Poll
2009 Buttonwood Aerial Photograph Poll
This poll is intended to find out the level of interest from the 2009 Buttonwood M&G attendees on having an aerial photograph taken of the event.
Please vote by site / order (not individuals) so we have a true indication of the number of orders we could expect.
Please let us know if you are interested in purchasing an aerial photograph of the 2009 Buttonwood M&G, by responding to this poll. The number of responses will be used to determine if we should pursue this activity further.
If 50% or more attendees indicate they are interested in covering the cost and are interested in purchasing aerial photographs of the event, we will continue to coordinate this activity.
Lode & HappyCampers are currently investigating and obtaining estimates from photographers in the area that provide aerial photograph services.
Details and cost estimates are not yet known, because full estimates and information have not been obtained. But here’s some background information on our thoughts and ideas:
Format & Distribution of Photos:
Our thought and desire is to obtain and distribute the photographs in digital format, probably on a CD via mailing to purchasers after the M&G.
Cost:
Total cost will be equally shared by the attendees that sign-up to purchase the aerial photographs.
Photographer's cost will include flight time and photographer’s fee. Flight time typically includes costs of fuel, any plain costs, pilots time, etc. and normally is based on distance and in-flight time.
Distribution costs will include purchase of blank CDs, mailing sleeves, and postage.
Thought no estimates have been obtain yet, a WAG on the cost per person may be in the range of $25 - $30.
Note: The cost / person is dependent on the number of purchasers and the total cost of obtaining & distribution of the photographs.
Payment:
It’s anticipated that the photographer may require a deposit. If this is the case, we would require each individual interested in purchasing the aerial photographs to mail a nominal deposit, such as $5, to order their photograph. The submitted deposits would be used to cover the photographer’s required deposit to book the service.
The balance of the payment would be collected at the M&G.
Time of Picture:
The picture probably would be taken ~12noon on Saturday and we would like to have all the Buttonwood M&G attendees gathered at the Group Tent area so the group would be included in one of the aerial photos.
If it is decided to continue with this active; full details and costs will be provided in a follow-on post, once all the information is known.
A special thanks to Lode & HappyCampers for all their time and effort they have been puting in to investigate the services and costs for this activity.
Thanks
Hutch

We're all set on the aerial picture moving forward. I've got a package of photographer/pilot/plane booked to get some shots on June 13th at noon.
The agreement that's been made is that the photographer will take as many shots as he can on a flyover at noon on the 13th of June. He'll take those images and batch touch up the shots. He'll then burn them onto a disc in jpeg format and forward them to me. 20+ shots good quality high resolution digital. I'll bulk burn copies and distribute so you can edit and print pictures to your own liking.
The cost works out to $20 per camper with 20 camp sites committed. That price includes packaging and handling to have the disc mailed to your home the week following the Meet and Greet. Hopefully we'll get more than that to reduce the individual cost as the numbers increase beyond the target 20 camping units.
If we have bad weather the shot will be a no go. The photographer doesn't want a deposit due to this possibility so there won't be any deposit from anyone required up front.
 Interested parties
Please forward me your name and address via PM on the forum board. I'll make sure the mailing labels are done ahead of time so I can get the copies out asap. No money will be due until Saturday June 14 after the flyover. I'll collect the cash at the group dinner.
Any questions or concerns, please let me know.
Thanks, Take care,
Lode

Of course, I'm in. Glad we got enough support and a lower cost for this to happen.
