2008 Eastern M&G Pot-Luck Dinner Sign-Up

Hi to everyone attending this year’s 2008 Eastern Meet & Greet @ Buttonwood Campground in Mexico, PA.

This post is to inform everyone of Saturday night’s Pot-Luck Dinner and to provide a way for individuals to sign-up / identify (via a reply to this post) what they would like to bring as a dish to pass.

Saturday night’s Pot-Luck Dinner will consist of:
Everyone is to:
provide their own meat, drinks, and place settings,
bring a dish to pass.

Buttonwood has graciously provided us with access to their Group Tent for our Pot-Luck Dinner.

We’ll eat dinner at 6pm.
Bring your grills, etc. to the tent ~5:30 if you want to cook there.
Last year must of us brought our grills to the tent and cooked there and munched on appetizers while we were cooking. It was a great way to kick off the dinner.

Updated 06/12/08
The current count on attendees is 32 sites, 80 people (71 adults; 6 kids; 3 infants)
I will update this count as more members join us.

If anyone has any food allergies, please let us know.

Please sign-up for what you would like to bring as a dish to pass as a reply to this post.
I’ll keep a running list to make it easy to identify what slots are available to sign-up for.

Also, we will need firewood for Friday and Saturday night campfires.
If anyone would like to volunteer to bring firewood and be fire marshals (i.e., start & maintain the Friday night and Saturday night fires) it would be appreciated.

Thanks – looking forward to seeing everyone in June.

Sue and I will bring baked beans again and probably a bag of chips or two. You know...................with a name like mine, I have to be a fire marshall one of the nights. I will also have a bunch of oak on the truck for smores and wieners.

Al in PA

Put us down for Calico Beans. They are different than traditional baked beans, so they should complement the first side dish on the list.

I'll bring cheese dip in a bread bowl for an appetizer. Maybe I can talk mdfiregal into doing something about that "more chocolate the better" thing

Dinner Sign-up

My wife and I will bring a "from scratch" chocolate cake with chocolate icing cake.

A suggestion - Either have everyone bring copies of the recipes for the dish they're bringing to the pot-luck dinner OR submit the recipe to someone who can then post all of them on this website or email them to those want the recipes. Campers, just like those who attend church tureen dinners, make some of the best food.

Can't wait to see you all in June.
