Who do you insure your Sunline with?

I need to get our new baby insured asap. What company do you folks use and have you ever had to file a claim, if so how was it handled?

Thanks much,

Billy

Gotta call the dealer today to get the MSRP of the 195sr.

Billy,

We use the Good Sam VIP insurance on both units. I've never used them on a Sunline nor had to file a claim with them before, but they had the best rates for everything in the spring of '06. We switched both units over from Foremost and have saved a ton of $$$. I'd highly recommend Foremost for a smaller company as we had them for a number of years. We used Foremost from the beginning with the 2653 and did have to file a claim or two, which it went fine, but Good Sam is quite a bit cheaper. Hopefully we won't have to file a claim with Good Sam!

Jon

Hi Billy,

We have Liberty Mutual, added the trailer to our current auto insurance policy.

We made one claim a few years ago when I tore off the rear awning bar scraping on a toll booth concrete wall . Had no problem at all dealing with the insurance company or having the damage fixed. We’ve been with Liberty Mutual for a long time and have always been happy with them.

We have ours with Progressive mainly because they offered replacement value on the unit for the first five model years. They were about $150 more than Liberty Mutual (our primary insurance: vehicles and homes). I haven't had to file with Progressive, but have had three claims with Liberty Mutual (two auto, one homeowners) and they have been outstanding to deal with. Don't know how the replacement value would be calculated now that a new Sunline isn't possible, but my understanding is we would receive the purchase price w/o any depreciation for the first five years.

We have Nationwide. They get all of our moneys from everything else so why not the camper as well!!! Honestly, we get a pretty good discount as we have our home-owners, truck, car, both motorcycles and now the TT with them. I guess I should be buying stock in Nationwide!!!!!! Marshall

I just added mine on with my auto policy through Nationwide. Seemed like good coverage and I have all my other insurance through them. Covers the awning and theft ect.

We have ours through our auto insurance policy, New York Central Mutual. Between the TV, the coach and DW's car, we recieved a discounted rate.

No claims on the trailer yet, but the way DW drives, I can't complain about the company. DW wonders why I bought her a screaming yellow Chevy Cobalt. I told her it is so the cops can't lose her every time she hits something. And I wonder why I got cut off for a couple of weeks ?

Ditto Progresive for the replacement. I have never had an RV claim, but they are great with my auto claims! Of course, neither one was my fault, so maybe that is why they were so nice.....

We are just now getting our first TT and insuring it - I got about 6 different quotes in all. Our auto ins. co. was cheapest ($100 yr, actual cash value only) but did not include replacement value or some of the rv-specific coverages. Most rv ins. companies were about the same ($300 yr, replacement value), and Good Sam was DOUBLE the others ($600 yr!!!)

We called Twin Peaks Insurance at the suggestion of someone on this forum and they gave us quotes from several different companies. (1-800-507-8467). Great American ended up beating out Progressive for us - the price was within about $2 but had a little better coverage.

Since this is our first TT, we were a little confused as to the nuances of the different coverages (we just had a PUP on our auto ins. before). Tiffany at Twin Peaks was very knowledgable and patient and explained the types of coverage that each company offered (for example, some companies will get you a new awning if it's a total loss, vs. companies that give you only the depreciated price. Now, where I am to find a USED awning to buy with the amount that would give me??

You can get a quote on their website www.twinpeaksinsurance.com, but I chose to call because the online quote form requires your SS# and the site is NOT a secure site.

Good luck!!!

Bobo - are you still there? Are you still alive?
If you were in my DH ~ I'D be out enjoying the TT by myself! I'd stop by the hospital once and awhile to check on your mending bones!!!!

GreenWillow,

Are contgratulations in order for you?

Did you purchased the 2753 and save it from the auction block?

The last post I saw from you was that you were heading up to look at it.

No, she does'nt read the forum but I do tell her what I say about her.I got a back hand and a good laugh. A sense of humor is very important in a marraige. I think I'll keep this one forever.
