Waxing the TT

Hello to all the happy campers

Just wondering if it is okay to use turtle wax on the aluminum siding. We are leaving on the 27th and have washed and loaded as much as we are able considering boarder restrictions. So we want to wax it to make it easier to clean later. Any help in this area would be appreciated .

Happy Camping
Ted

I thought the Sunline owner's manual said not to use wax.

I've used a good cleaner wax on trailers and boats for many years with success. If nothing else, put a couple coats on the front and rear to make it easier to remove bugs and tar when you wash it. Keeping a can of wax in the trailer is helpful when you run into the inevitable road paving project while traveling. You can remove the fresh tar at the end of the day with a quick detailing job at the campground. Also, cleaner wax will get rid of the black streaks you can't remove by washing.

Sunline Fan is an unknown quantity at this point
Ted,

Assuming the previous owner didn't tamper with the order of the book, the sheet should be located under the miscellaneous tab, which should be at the back. The sheet explains how you should clean all parts of the coach. I believe it's titled something like "Recommended Cleaning Instructions for cleaning the interior and exterior of your new Sunline" or something like that.

I don't go by that. I think the more wax you put on there, the better, especially the fiberglass and logos. I think Sunline said that because it really isn't required with the Krystal Kote, but that way someone would be so sick of trying to rub off the black streaks that three or so years later they'd just trade it in on a shiny new one.

So, if you have time to wax it, go ahead, it won't hurt anything. However, at the very least, wax all the fiberglass (rock guard, entry doors, storage doors), striping, and logos.

Jon

Thank you all for you time and effort to help us have a great trip with a shiny Sunline. It's a great TT we have to let her strut her stuff eh at least at the start of the trip. So once again thanks for your helpful advice
