Willoughby is an unknown quantity at this point
Tire size for 1992 T2363

The previous owners had 15" tires on the camper. The manual states it should take 205/75/14 Does anyone know if I could replace the tires with 225/70/15? Would there be enough height clearance or would they possibly rub?

Thanks in advance.

This question has come up recently and the caution was rub/bump clearance. I posted a reply to them, but for some reason I cannot find it now. And I do not recall them posting back.

In my search for that recent thread, I found this older one, which may help some. http://www.sunlineclub.com/forums/f6...tml#post146603

A few things, the tire you mentioned 225/70/15 is not a normal ST trailer tire. While they do make a ST225/75R15 and a ST205/75R15 they are very different OD and width tires. The ST225/75R15 has high odds they will not fit. Too large an OD and too wide. The ST205/75R15 might have a chance. When Sunline dropped all the 14" tire sizes, the ST205/75R15 load range C was the tire they standardized on for the T2363 and many other floor plans. I just do not know if they changed the wheel well on the camper.

What size 15" tire did they put on the camper? It may shed some light on this even if it will hit.

There are 3 areas to check,

Top of tire to bottom of wheel well at the 12:00 position.

Tire width to not rub the wheel well

Tire to tire clearance between the tires on tandem axle campers.

If you stay in the 205 width, the top of tire to bottom to the wheel well at the 12:00 position is the most likely to be an issue if there is problem. If you can give us the actual full tire size on the camper now, and the brand, whatever that is and then measure the distance from the top OD of the tire to the bottom of the wheel well, we may see if there is a chance this might work or let us know the ST205/75R15 may work.

There is also a ride up suspension test we can do to test for a hit, but let's see more what it is you have now first.

Hope this helps

John

There is one other thing too, if a prior owner did an over/under spring suspension modification (aka axle flip) to gain more drag clearance, that opens up the wheel well a lot and then going to a ST205/75R15 Load range C then has high odds it may work. If you can post a few pics of the leaf springs at the axle area, we can tell if that lift modification was ever done if you do not know if the over/under mod was done.
