Tips on selling sunline

Hi,

My friend has a 2006 29' Sunline Solaris SR Classic Model T-286SR that she needs to sell and I am trying to help. She had it at the dealership for six months. It has been listed on craigslist and at local post offices and on community bulletin boards. Also, on this website. No one has shown any interest. Any one have any tips? Is it priced right at $14,999? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

This is the post below.

Thanks
Sam

Having it on consignment at a dealer doesn't always help get it sold. What dealer was it? They need good visibility and they have to charge a good amount to consign or else the salesmen will have no incentive to show her trailer over one that the dealer owns and the salesman can make more commission on.

It is my experience that most people will take out a loan on something over $10,000, so that could be why you haven't had any interest from Craigslist. Car dealers use it a lot with higher priced items, but people can go to the dealer and possibly arrange financing there.

It looks in very good condition in the pictures, so don't jump on lowering the price too much. It still has the stickers in the sink...

Another option you could try is eBay. I honestly don't follow the sales that much, I just see them when they're first listed and then ignore them later, so I don't know how the sale closure rate is there. You can make just a classified ad on there for a set price if you don't want to do an auction setting.

I think the pictures could be more effective. People like to understand the layout, so a sketch of the layout would be helpful. The super nice thing about that model is the kitchen, so stand back when taking the photo to really show off all that counter space. Then there's a nice coat closet / TV stand I don't see. And the extra chair. I'd want to see a picture of the bedroom too.

Thanks for the feedback! I originally had used a layout picture but it was too hard to read. I will look at that again.

It looks like the fact that it is over $10,000 is a negative for selling. Is there places where they can sell it to someone who is going to sell it? Like a dealership? I know they are going to make less this way but it may be a better option than holding on to it for another year.

Thanks
Sam
