Question thoughts on trailer covers please

i am looking at getting a cover for my 2007 t-2499 ,
any suggestions on what to look for and look out for?
also is it a good or bad idea to keep it covered in summer
when parked for 3 to 5 weeks at a time between trips?

I think a good quality cover is a good ideal. Mine is in a garage but I had a small (Toyota) motor home and I used the cover year round. I made two small saw horses that I used under the cover to give it a pitch more then any thing to help shed the snow but the added benefit was being able to leave the roof vent open under the cover it does get damp in there.

Is it a good idea to cover at any time? I've heard pros and cons.

One is being able to open the vent as mentioned but I use those Maxx air hoods so my vents are open all the time, rain or shine except when heating or cooling.

Does a good quality cover shed moisture or retain it? It must keep the unit cleaner. The I'm interested as originally asked, how often. Just for storage or whenever nor in use?

I can't really comment on whether using the cover in the summer is a good idea or not. I've never done it, so I don't have experience.

The thing with cheap covers is you'll find they can tear easily in the wind. It's still wise to cover sharp corners of the trailer (like gutter corners, awning edges) with some foam pipe insulation (or just foam in general) to prevent the cover from ripping. It's a good idea to do regardless of the cover you have.

With all covers, it's important to have it strapped down tight. If it's loose, then you can get damage to the trailer.

My favorite style cover has like a tarp material on the top, front, and rear, where the sides have a breathable material.

I would see if you could put like some pool noodles or something up on the roof to give it air space to breath. Saw horses would work too, even though the cover may not be big enough, but it's a long way to get those up there.

The good covers breath one of the worst things you can do is use an off the shelf plastic tarp on any RV.
