T-1550 Trailer Questions

Hello
I recently purchased a 1986 T-1550 trailer. We love the trailer, it is in excellent shape. It has a new axle and was very well maintained. I am trying to locate an owners manual or where I can get info. on my trailer. I am looking for specs on the trailer such as dry weight, GVWR, different tank capacities, etc... Please let me know if anyone has any info. on this trailer.
Thanks in advance
Chris

Hi Chris -

I have a 1992 T-1550 and will pull out my brochure, etc. when I get home tonight so I can post all of the information you are looking for. I imagine most of the details would be the same for a 1986. It is a wonderful trailer, I'm sure you will enjoy it. Did you buy it from a dealership or individual? What are you towing with?

Grace

Hi Chris -

Welcome to the SunlineClub.com and congratulations on your new Sunline trailer! I added a 1986 Sunline Saturn brochure to the files section of the site today, you'll want to check that out. But, I did have to scan everything in black & white, so some of it came out a bit hard to read. Plus, the 1986 Sunline Saturn folded up like a map, not a book, so some of the info scans over mulitple pages.

Anyway, here is the info you requested which I can read easily from my original...

Length - 15'11''
Body Width - 7'
Axle Weight - 1680
Hitch Weight - 230
GVW - 1910
GAWR - 2630
Fresh Water - 24 gallons
Gray Tank - 21 gallons
Black Tank - 10 gallons

Enjoy! And please keep us updated on your adventures with the Sunline trailer.

Thanks for the T-1550 Info.

I would like to start off by saying thank you for the Post replies. The info is just what I needed.
I bought it off a 71 year old gentleman. He owned it for 4 yrs. He pulled it to Florida every winter. He had a new axle install a few months ago. We wanted something small because it is only me and my wife. We love the trailer, only used it once so far. We will be going out for columbus day. I pull it with a 2005 nissan xterra.
Should I have the electric brake controller installed in my truck?? or is the trailer light enough that I don't need the electric brakes.

Thanks Again
Chris

manuals for T-1550's.

Chris, sounds like we're in the same boat. Thanks Site Admin, for posting that 1986 manual. It must have been just recently even before my direct e-mail to your looking for the 1990 manual. I'm sure the 1986 Solaris manual will help. And, thanks to Grace, if you don't mind Grace, I'll await that version of the 1993 manual you mentioned.

Chris, we're about to get our truck (2006 Ford Escape XLT, V6, 3.0 litre) rigged out with the hitch, etc. on Thursday and the guy there definitely recommends the electronic brake for my vehicle. Maybe that might be a guidepost or help for you decision to install one for your situation.

All the best, all..

Electric Brakes are a must, even with the 1550 Trailer. I would imagine if you review your Nissan Xterra manual it will say for sure. Most car/truck manuals include a section on towing and the weight of a trailer where electic brakes are necessary. Some can be as little as 500 pounds where below that they do not require electric brakes on the trailer.

Welcome and congrats on your new Sunny!.

To find a manual for your camper, you can download copy from our files section.

You need to be logged in to download files.
At the top of the forum are tabs, look for the word "FILES" click it.

Once into the files section, scroll down to the "Owners Manuals" section. Go in there and find a manual for your year camper.

Feel free to ask any and all questions on your Sunline. Just create a new post for each topic you need help with or other fun Sunline adventures you want to share with others.
