Sunline Siding

I've got one quick question & one quick observation:

1. Why is the siding on the back of our trailer two different styles. Is everyone's this way or do I have a mutant???

2. Have you ever been bored enough to photograph your trailer in the dark. We were just lounging beside the fire Saturday night and I picked up the camera and it went off. When I checked them this morning I found this. Look how bright the Sunline Emblem is!!

The reflectors are pretty cool. I may have to take my camera out and try it on mine.

Ours is setup the same. You do not have a mutant or we both do... Our TT front top wind deflector has that same type plastic (I think plastic) siding.

Now to why? Do not know.

I also see you have what looks like the removable shore line power cord verses the kind you stuff in the hole of the side of the camper. I did not know Sunline even offered that as an option. Most I have seen are the stuff it in the camper type.

Lee at Stoltzfus told me the removable shore cable was new for 2007. He said that was to help keep critters out in the summer and furballs out over winter. This was our first trip out.........love it and all went well!!!!

I don't think yours will reflect at all. The striping from that year and logos from that year didn't have anything reflective in it. I do know the striping from '93-'95 had a band of white Krystal Kote in it.

Marshall,

Is that a 50 Amp or 30 Amp cord you have there? I know many manufacturers put those removable cords on the 50 Amps, just due to the size. I hate trying to coil a 50 up; it's so stiff (even when warm) that coiling it up is a real chore. Add cold weather to the mix and it's horible.

Jon,
It's a 30 AMP. I got a 2 x 30ft sections so I can hook it up at home but only carry one of the sections with me. Its pretty easy to spool and stores under the bed. Marshall

Marshall,

In our MH, we've got a 50 Amp cord with the plug end inside a basement cabinet. Despite my Mom yelling at me to not unplug it from there, I like to unplug it to coil it outside on the ground. My dad's toy hauler has a 50 also, but there's no way to unplug it. The cabinet it fits into is very small and the hole it goes through is on the bottom, so that's a real pain to move. Also, the cord has a plug it has to plug into inside that cabinet for the generator and the cord bends on a tight angle to fit. It would be fine if it was a 30 Amp, but not 50. Not all manufacturers are as smart as Sunline!

Back to the siding topic, I can confirm all of my/our trailers have the siding like that. Also, I've looked at a few units in my pic collection and every unit I looked at back to at least 1980 had it like that (1980 was as far back as I looked).

Marshall,

The siding on our Sunline’s butt side looks the same.

It also has the same type of siding in the front:

I'm sure Sunline had a reason for this, not sure why, but I'm curious and would like to find out what the purpose was.

That night photo was cool. I’ll have to try the night shot to see if our logo & stripping has the reflective features .

Sunline had been using that same aluminum (it's all aluminum) siding collection for years. My 92 has it and so do all the ones I've seen up to 07. There actually were four different patterns used. The "pleated" style used at the top sections of the front and rear, the "pebble" texture used at the lower sections on the sides, the "corrugated" sections used in the stripe area and the Krystal Kote "bar and ribbed" sections used on everything else. My guess is that they liked the combo early on and never saw any reasons to change it.
The reflective striping, as far as I can tell was used on all white TT. Any use before that I can't say. My 92 "had" it and I replaced it when I repainted in the 07 stripe design.
