Sunline logo decals

Boy these are scarce!
I emailed every (former) Sunline dealer in six states and found one who had a few logos, but no one has striping. I ordered the Front/rear (only one available) large decal and the two side "Solaris" decals and received them today. They are from a 2004-05 model with the darker blue letters and amber sun. One other dealer is supposed to call me tomorrow to tell if they have anything. These are going on my 92 Solaris which I've been working on. One dealer emailed me to say he called the Sunline rep (?) and was told that they dumped all that stuff, so if anyone needs these logos, be prepared to search!

Hi Rich,

Wow, they are scarce! I hope the leftovers at the auction didn't get thrown out.

Maybe we should take detailed pictures of the decals while they are in good shape. In the future when decals are unavailable, we could mask off the appropriate areas and have the stripes/logo decals reproduced by a graphic artist with an airbrush.

The entire decal room went in one lot at auction. Other decals on shelves in parts and service went in grouped lots. I know they sold, but what the bidder did afterwards is hard to tell. I keep looking at e bay for Sunline parts, Somebody must have got them.???

MM,

I keep looking too, so far nothing. I wonder what someone did with the entire logo room? I really wanted that because it had all the sample striping cuts. I've always struggled with the radius on the '97-'98 stone guards, at the end of the striping.

Hopefully someone with the company bought the logos!

There are alot of decal manufacturers out there. If you are looking for striping, they can custom make you some, and it should be VERY inexpensive.

Kathryn,

I wouldn't be so sure of that. I once asked Sue Uibel (Sunline Parts Manager) why they didn't have any of the logos and/or striping re-manufacturered. She said it was very expensive to do that, and it would probably cost around $50 for one large logo, such as the front/rear logos.

As for striping, you may be able to find some, but it would be costly to make it an exact match, especially the striping with a lot of detail or special colors. For example, I think the '93-'95 striping would be very expensive/impossible to re-create because it has an unusual metallic green color and a white Krystal Kote band on it. Some of the newer striping was not as complex, so it could be possible. Most of the coaches in need of striping now have the details though .

The logos are a different story. They are 1. trademarked, and no one will do it anyhow, and 2. multi coloerd. They require much more time and effort to produce. I was thinking that if they needed striping, they could replace what they have with all new, single color (not as nice, I know, but better then peeling stripes). I have had it made for various applications before, and it can be done low cost (although it probably would be more for a whole coach)

I found a dealer who has a 2006-2007 Sunline logo. Seems anyone who has had a logo has only one, so I can't get a matched pair. Jon, did you want to buy this one?

I'm not sure yet if I want to buy it or not. Could you give me the name and number of the dealer though? I'll call them and see what they can do for me.

Sunline logo decals

All,

I have a 2000 Sunline Advancer Lite 21' TT, with the multi-color stripes and the"Swooshes" on each side near the rear, that had the left side "Swoosh" decals just about fall off (We pulled the remains off).

This left the stripes with about a 3' long blank space, on the side. You could still see the outline of the "Swoosh", though.

I called Sunline, just before they closed, and they didn't have any decals or stripes for this model left, but suggested trying a sign company or something similar to try to duplicate the missing pieces.

I went to a local sign company here in Chambersburg, PA, called Art Sign Co., and they came out and did a thin paper tracing of the good right side "Swoosh" and also brought several books of viny color chips, which they used to match up to the four colors in the "Swoosh". They took this back to their shop and somehow got it into their computer and created the opposite side pattern, which was used to make a new 4 color vinyl "Swoosh" for the left side. This was then applied and can't hardly be told from what it looked like as new!

It was a little expensive (About $180!), but now the Coach looks good again! I'll try to get pictures up on the site, soon, if anyone is interested.

I'd have to dis-agree with all of you. Now I dont know if this is illegal or not, but since the company is out of business, who is going to sue me??LOL

Show me any logo you have and within a few hours time on the computer I can duplicate it. The guy that wrapped our entire trailer with logo's did it for next to nothing. If I wanted to duplicate any of the logos, he could do it for me in vinyl quality just like the stickers you want and have it done for farily cheap.

Now, being in the graphics business, the average customer might spend a little more for this work, but if you want your baby to look like the day she rolled off the lot, then a few extra bucks for quality work isnt much. Any good graphics company can match pinstriping and stickers with just an old sticker to go from. If they charge to much, shop around. As most want way too much these days for their work.

Good Luck

Pat

Hi Jan,

I'm sorry, but I don't have any side logos available. The ones I have have the front paper removed (can't be mounted now) for display purposes.

Hi Jan,

Sorry, I guess I did misunderstand you. Anyway, I'd be glad to scan them for you. I don't think I can get to it until later this week though. I think you're very lucky to still have the suns intact, as those are complicated and I bet costly to reproduce.

I think the company that supplied Sunline's decals is located somewhere near the former factory. I had to have the right side front corner of our Fiver replaced under warranty due to delamination. Herb Tester called me and said the trailer would be finished soon they were just waiting for the decals to be delivered. My understanding was that two ladies from the decal (graphic arts?) company were there applying the decals. How I miss Herb and the rest of the crew.

I'm sure any sign shop can duplicate the logo design (and with Sunline out of business, I don't think copyright laws would apply) but Sunline ordered them in quantity, so they were able to sell them at a "reasonable" price (I was quoted $15.00 for the large "Sunline" logo when they were still in business-I know, I should've ordered right away, but had no idea they wouldn't remain in business). I think, to go to a sign shop and ask them to set up to do one or two decals means the customer will pay the full cost of doing the workk with no reduction for duplication. I plan on bringing one to a local shop just to make sure though. I still need one 2004-2005 to match the one I was able to get.
