Sunline factory

Just signed up as a member. Myself and 2 other friends have Sunlines here in Connecticut.
Can anybody tell me what's going on at the factory?

Steve

The factory is shut down. I've heard they (the new owners from 2004) were having financial difficulties. I've also heard, that there is a possibility of someone else taking over the company and re-opening. The original owners did NOT sell the buildings & property, just the business. We (Sunline owners) are all hoping that someone (maybe original owners) will purchase the company and re-open the factory so that more folks can get to enjoy the top quality that Sunline produces. Those of us that currently own a Sunline, know we own a "jewel". And I still say, "IF" I didn't currently own a Sunline, and found one I liked on a lot, I would snatch that puppy up in a heartbeat, factory closed or not, warranty or not.

I am hoping the plant stays open too

Just this past September I bought a new Sunline T1950 at the RV Show in Hershey. Buy the time I got it home the cold weather was about to set in . I am anxiously waiting for spring to set in. Well so much for that. Sunline has made a T1950SR. The dealership that sold it to me, has this particular model right now on their lot. But on the webpage it says "Closeout" I hope that this is not the beginning of the end. It is Stoltzfus RV

"closeout" probably refers to the fact that there won't be any more due to the factory's closing.

I went to Stoltzfus RV web site and didn't even see the 195S on the inventory list - or maybe I just missed it!

I do see they have a 2499 - my dream camper.....I'll have to keep an eye on that and hopefully in the spring DH & I can decide if you want to bite the bullet and sell our 2006 1950 for the 2499!

Stoltzfus has two 195SR ' s

Stoltzfus shows two 195 Sr's in his inventory today. I was there two weeks ago to pick up my new T1950 and walked thru one of them. Quite a bit more room in the living area and some extra storage in the kitchen cabinets. The unit is actually about 1-1/2 feet longer than a T1950 and weighs about 400Lbs. more.

We purchased our T1950 from Lee Vought ( as Kanyon Kitty recommended). He's definitely a straight shooter who tells you if something is a waste of money. There's also a dealer in Butler PA who bought up a good deal of the Sunline inventory. He has his units listed on E-Bay motors. Go to http://www.motors.ebay.com/ select RV's & Campers under "other vehicles" then type in sunline for the search. He claims he has several 195 SR's in stock.
