SUNLINE COACH COMPANY AUCTION

Hi Everyone,

I just received word from Dale Zimmerman and Tony Giannascoli (Sunline's Attorney) today that the Sunline auction is on Tuesday, April 17th. According to Dale, it will be a "one day, as is, were is type auction, meaning the buyer assumes all responsibility and removal of purchase from the premises".

How sad.
Now that everything is coming to an end it is just amazing to think that such a quality product with such a loyal customer base can not succeed in today's economy. This country has no plan to stop the manufacturing migration to foreign interests.
Thank you Sunline for my 1973 pick-up camper. As a young man it gave me many enjoyable times. F-1 reces at Watkins Glen, NY, Fishing in Florida. SInce 2002 you have given my DW and me a way to get re-connected in this hectic stress filled world in our 2363.
In reviewing the auction materials and looking at the machinery sitting idle in that Denver plant it really does make you sad and thankfull for owning a Sunline coach. Thank you all who participated in the Sunline manufacturing.Regards,
MM

How sad it is to realize that the Sunline Coach Company will be no more. We very fortunately stumbled on the Sunline product that we purchased in 1999 when we saw a T1950 at our local RV show at that time. After having a trailer of another make previously that turned into trash in 3 years, we were amazed at the quality and layout of the Sunline. We had that trailer for 4 years and then decided to upgrade to a larger unit. We ordered a 2004 T2363 Solaris SE with all the goodies and it meets our needs exceedingly well. At campgrounds we have heard many fellow campers give raves upon looking at our unit. It will be difficult to say "Goodbye" to the Sunline Coach Company, as well as the many Sunline employees that provided a supurb quality product that far exceeded most others. I'm sure we will be keeping ours for many years since it cannot be replaced. To all the many Sunline employees: Thank you for your sincere efforts to provide a product that will remain in our hearts and memories for a long time.

I thinks its a tribute to all the hard work of Sunline employees when you hear about all the people who are purchasing Sunlines BECAUSE they have heard that the manufacturing plant is closing.

I knew I wanted a Sunline after I compared it with my lightweight 2002 R-vision Bantam B-22S. I knew I woudl have to wait for a used unit to come around as the new ones were too pricey for my camping habit.

A model that was parked one mile from my house for three years, came to me (for the third time in three years). I had to buy it, I thought it might be my last chance. Not to be too dramatic, but this trailer was destined to be mine.

I hope to have it for years to come. Thanks again to all the Sunline workers.

I also feel like my new-to-me 2004 T-2499 was "destined to be mine." We bought our first Sunline in 2000. My husband and I had camped with our kids and their friends for several years in various pop-ups. In 2000 they were all out of the house, so we decided it was time to buy a camper just for the two of us. We were on our way to Jackson, MS and took a wrong turn. There was a brand new camper dealer that we had no idea existed and we stopped to take a look. They carried Sunline. We made an offer that very day and bought a 2000 T-2553 which we had for four years. In 2004, we traded that camper for a new 264SR. We only had that camper for about a year when the fifth wheel bug bit and we thought that's what we wanted. Sunline was no longer making fifth wheels, so we traded for a Jayco. We camped a few times in the fifth wheel, but I never felt the same attachment that I had with my two Sunlines. We decided to sell the fifth wheel and placed it on consignment with our dealer. I found out in March that Sunline had gone out of business and immediately started looking for a Sunline to purchase. There was a very slightly used one for sale on eBay in a neighboring state and I won it. The auction ended on my 55th birthday. What a great birthday present!

Going to the Sunline auction?

If anyone is going to the auction, I have a request.
I'm renovating my 92 Solaris and it's getting close to completion, but I would really like to get the new style striping and logos for it. If anyone goes and these are available, I'd be interested in buying some.
Thanks,
Rich

Decals at the auction..

I am near Scranton in NE Pa. and tomorrow is the day we will be picking up our SEVENTH Sunline..this one is a '98 model 2653 (had one before and loved it!)...however, the side decals (the big ones) are badly ripped..if someone is going to the auction, please keep me in mind for purchasing decals and maybe even striping--I am sure someone will have the foresight to grab these items and offer them to the other club members since they will be impossibile to obtain later. Sure wish I could go to the auction! But, it's the only day I have got to pick up the "baby"! Thanks for keeping me in mind!

Hi Everyone,

I just went through the entire auction catalog (just posted this morning) and found nothing about specific striping. The auctioneers apparently know very little about the company, as it seems they have no clue as to what some of the items are. Also, the descriptions seem to be very vague, so I can't tell what is what. I did see a couple lots of "Pin Stripping", so I don't know if they're referring to the side striping or something else. Unfortunately, I think all the items such as striping and logos are sold in an entire lot, so whoever buys it will take it all, including possibly the rack they are stored on.

I also see nothing on there about all the brochures, which is what I really want, so if anyone is going, could you please pick them up!

Here's the link to the catalog.

Jon

Good grief Jon, that is an extensive list. They must have JUST posted that as I looked earlier today and it wasn't up yet. I looked at one of their other links and DID see logos will be for sale. I also assume that they will be sold as a batch. My suggestion to the people that need them is to call Stoltzfus in Adamstown. Someone else was able to purchase the logos from them a couple of months ago (don't remember who), so they may have some more. Or if they know there's interest perhaps they'll bid on the batch for sale at the auction tomorrow. I would assume they'll have someone there, since their dealership is so close to the factory, and they have sold ALOT of Sunlines in the past and may want parts.

Pam,

Where did you see logos listed? I have scanned the other doc's a few times and can't seem to find it. They must have JUST posted the catalog very recently; I have checked every day for the past week and haven't seen it. I was just on last night around 9:00 and didn't see it.

I hope that if a lot of the stuff doesn't sell, maybe the auction company will hold another auction, hopefully on a weekend . If it were on a weekend, maybe I could actually go!

Jon

I just got off the phone with a man in the parts dept. at Stoltzfus RV, he said they do not have any striping or logos for Sunline. When I asked him if he was sure, since someone online had said they purchased some recently, he replied that they may have at one time but they don't now.

Rich,

That's not good, hopefully they plan on restocking at the auction. I hope they realize that if they invest in them, they can make a lot of money off of these Sunline owners in need of logos and striping.

Sorry I wasn't responsive today...our son is an engineering student at Virginia Tech. He is fine. We are all very disturbed though.

Decals are listed under REPAIR PARTS.

Hi Pam,

Thanks for the info. I must have missed that as I was looking mainly for the brochures, which I still don't see .

Wow, that was quite the ordeal at Virginia Tech. I hope your son didn't know any of them personally, as that could be very hard to deal with. We just had a shooting up here in MI recently- I wonder what it is all of the sudden?
