Suffering seasonal disorder

Suffering seasonal disorder! I have a bit of a problem here in our newer home in Windsor ON. We moved here a year ago at the end of Mar. and our trailer is in such a nice spot right outside our kitchen window. Now I thought it was perfect but I have developed a seasonal disorder lately. We do not have a dishwasher here and so I do the dishes. We have a counter on the computer that tells me we leave for Florida in 49 days give or take a few. Our first site reservation is April 30. Now I have to fight each day to keep my excited hands off the keys to the trailer as there is no sense going out there to get it ready. It is almost ready to go NOW! Judy my lovely wife says Ted take it easy it will only take about five hours to get it up and running. So I stand and do the dishes while Judy is doing lots of other jobs like painting and laundry. I look out and dream of all the sights we will see and the people we will meet and share space and time with. 49 Days can seem so long but it will be here so soon and our time there so soon gone. Oh well have to go and do some other odd job and watch and wait. Sorry to trouble you with my little problems.
Happy travels
Ted

Ted,

I just replied to your post, but it got lost. Basically, I said I'm suffering from the same issue. Need more blue sky and sunshine! But, the camping season is coming!!

Hope this gets through.

With the cold fronts coming into Central Florida I am seeing more and more campers heading North. That means more room for those of you wanting to come South. So, your frustrations about heading out can be lessened by the knowledge there will be plenty of room here. You might double check locations of campsites and sinkholes but everything else is just fine.

Well guys, I been chomping at the bit for the last month. Our first outiong is scheduled for the second week in April and I have some work to do on our Sunny (replace carpet with new flooring, replace hitch jack with power jack) before then, so either this weekend or next I plan on bringing it home.

We got the "hitch itch" too! We made some reservations for two summer camping trips, including the Buttonwood M&G. and one September trip to NY wine country. This week I called some of the nearer State Parks to see when they were opening their campsites.

First SP I called to ask when their sites were opening, the guy said, "Uh... the day before the first day of trout season."

Long pause on my part, "Great! I don't know when that is."

Equally long pause on his part and then a little sheepishly, "Neither do I, let me check."

Turns out its the second Friday in April. We were hoping for the first of April, in case the weather broke. Oh well, we still have things to do on the 2363.

Major SAD going on here too! Our last trip was also Thanksgiving. It was so great I thought it might hold me over but nope, those fond memories are making me want to go even more. And going out into the camper to wander around just makes it worse! And now it's snowing....

I'm also having serious withdraw! I'm also out of carport space, so Sunny #19 is forced to ride out the storm in the front yard! The 344, however, is also ready to roll with only an hour's notice!

Our first trip is Easter weekend, Twin Grove KOA. I took the cushions and bedding up today, and I am picking up a new mattres on Saturday.

A little cleaning, and we are ready to go.

Phil

We usually hit Twin Grove 4 or 5 times each summer. We stay on the upper new pull through sites.

We are Hollywood Casino fans, and of course Hershey fans, and they are both close.

We also try to stay there the weekend of the Hershey RV Show.

It all depends in this area. There can be 4" difference just across town...

Near work the bare lawn is all over on the way home from work, yet here we will have 2 to 3" of compacted mush. Was hoping to pull the camper out of it's parking spot tonight as it is suppose to be 52 and sunny on Saturday. Well for now, it will sit. I have a power transformer next to it that it might slide towards when I pull it out, so for now it will sit for another day at least. May head out for a night on Saturday morning. Friday is suppose to be 42 so some more will melt, maybe.

Barb and I, just got back from Flordia. We where looking for some place comfy to hide in the winter. Ok I know, so Virgina isn't Maine or Canada in the winter but but still we got about 10" of heavy wet snow last yesterday.
While we down in Flordia one of the locals was telling me that she had grown up in Key West and while she was in high school there was one time that the temperature drpped to 41 degrees and they where given a snow day. It sure wasn't like that in Pennsylvania when I was a kid.

Hope we can all get out camping soon, even if we need to burn a little propane keeping warm..

Given that you're over 500 miles north of us, that makes sense. You live in a beautiful state but don't know if we could put up with the length of the winters. Found out that some of the state parks south of us will be opening on Easter weekend - we may be tempted to head south, if the weather ever warms up.
