Strips of Putty/Caulk Lying in the Ground

We had a few days close to 100 degrees and I went out in the morning to leave on a trip in our 2007 T-1950 and saw this. I'm in PA (hi humidity and temps); these strips of putty/caulk were just lying on the ground next to the wheels!

Has this happened to anyone else? They must tuck up underneath the wheel well area. ...any advice?

Thank you in advance. -Tony

Tony,
I recently purchased new a new fender for my Sunny. When I removed the old one, I notice putty tape in a couple odd areas on the old fender. I guessed it was to keep the fender from flapping so much while driving. It didn’t appear to be a water tight seal for anything.

I also recently replaced a cracked fender skirt on our 2007 T-276SR and found that they used a lot of that caulk (tape, I think) between the skirt and the trailer. It just helps keep the skirt tight to the body especially in the V-shaped area that comes down between the wheels. I used silicone caulk when I installed the new one... I figure it will provide better adhesion.

OK, Thank you for the replies! I will use some caulk too, but I'd like to know where to get a replacement fender ...mine are cracked in half on one side and warping badly on the other. Thanks again!

I bought 2 of them at Stoltzfus RV New & Used RVs for Sale, Stoltzfus RV and Marine, West Chester, PA for around $50 ea. I think they still have quite a few of them in stock. As I remember, the ones on our trailer were around 68.5" long. They are too large to ship and you have to pick them up. You may want to pick up a spare since they will probably be hard to find once they sell out.

Wow! $50 each is a great deal!!! I will be calling them in the morning and will make the two hour drive for it! I purchased my replacements via Icon Direct. Just overt $200/each. I’m still in search of step bezels yet. Icon said they would make them for me, but hard to tell what that will cost.
