Storing dirty laundry

Can I get some ideas on what you do to manage dirty laundry before you get a chance to bring it to the laundry area? When we camp for a week, we usually take a few hours one day in the middle of our stay to haul it over to the washers and dryers, but until then, there never seems to be a convenient place to store it.
Any ideas?

We bought a foldable/mesh "hamper" and leave it in the shower - in the AM, we pull it from the shower and place it in the bedroom......yea we move it daily, but it works for us!

Laundry bags! Good, old fashioned laundry bags - one for her and one for me. In the daytime they go in the shower with a few other items. When we need the shower, they sit on the bed until we're done.

We can go about a week before they get so full that we have to head out to the laundromat.

If we're headed home with full laundry bags, they just go on the floor somewhere, usually near a door where we can grab them first and get them in the house and up to the laundry room.

We use a mesh duffel bag kept in the shower stall. The mesh allows damp clothing to dry out which keeps the smell down. This is important when in close quarters. The duffel design makes it easy to carry.

our sunny has a built in hamper,but
on long stays we will fill the hamper then the wife heads to the laundry facilities or we use a laundry bag and store it in the shower.

We converted the kitchen waste basket cabinet to a laundry hamper. It was awkward to open the door and tilt out the trash can every time we wanted to toss something. It works great for laundry.

Here’s a couple of ideas that we use and have used:

We use a pop-up hamper like this:

During the day, we put it in the shower, so it’s out of the way. In the morning, we take it out of the shower and put it in the bedroom (or some other place) until we're done showering, then we put it back in the shower stall. When we get home, we just carry the hamper into the house. And when we're not camping it folds up into a small square.

When we took a 5 week family vacation (5 of us total), the DW put 2 large bins in the under bed storage area, and told the kids (which included me

) that one was for whites and the other was for colors. When we did laundry, we loaded the whites and colors in 2 pop-up hampers and took the cloths to the Laundromat. This worked great for the long trips.

Cindy and I found a hard sided hamper that we keep in the shower stall. We keep our detergents in that and a few other items we only use for laundry.

THe clothes go in there and the shower door gets closed. When we shower, the basket comes out and sits on the bed, and once a week or when ever it's full, we stop and do some laundry. If we only let it fill the basket up, it's usually only one load, and goes quick.

We put ours in a round laundry basket that fits nicely in the shower.
