Set of Hub Caps for my T2363

I am interested / looking for a nice set of four hubcaps for my 1996 Solaris T2363. If anybody has some or knows where I can get a set please let me know.

Thanks Mike

Hi Mike,

Any chance of a pic on what yours look like?

Since you have a 1996 camper they may be the newer Dexter center hub cap and are available on line.

Do they look like this?

Those would be them! Used from '93 through '04, with the black push on lug nut covers too.

No surprise there. The caps are held in behind the wheel with small metal tabs- you actually put it around the hub or set it in the wheel before mounting the wheel. Of course some people try to take them off first too. The metal tabs just crack from the heat too quite a bit. This should be them, for your size:

DEXTER AXLE BLACK EZ LUBE HUB COVER FOR 5-4.50, 3.19 O.D. MODEL#K71-419-00 on eBay!

Likewise, the lug nut covers split along the sides as well, so they get loose, and then fall off. Here are those:

DEXTER K71-406-00 - Dexter Axle Wheel Nut Cover Black Plastic 6 Per K71-406-00 - RV Plus

Yes, they are a poor design. On a 5 lug wheel the 3 tabs are never going to fall into a low spot so the tabs get smashed and accelerate the cracks. On 6 lug, you can rotate the hub so the 3 tabs fall into low spots and you can miss the crush effect of the wheeel agasint the drum.

When mine cracked on the T310 I gave up on them and converted.

They do have those fancy pliers to remove the lug nut caps too, but I think they're overrated. Sure, the new ones are a little tight, but give them a few months and they'll be much easier to pull on/off by hand.

Just wondering, is there any reason full wheel covers couldn't be used? This would be good especially if the steel wheels are rusty.

Rich, when you mean full, do you mean like an auto hub cap? Or the kind of hub cap that fits on the lug nuts?

Like these

No, I meant wheel covers that go all the way to the rim so that if the spokes of the steel wheel were rusted and you didn't want to go through the trouble of cleaning off the rust, treating with a rust treament and painting, you could cover them. For myself, I'd like to find a set of wheel covers that gave the look of alloy wheels like those used on a lot of TT's these days, without the expense.

IMO, that's starting to walk a fine line between looking good and looking ghetto. But if you can find ones you like, then they should fit fine.

Jon, I read that to my wife and she said she agrees with you! But I've seen wheel covers on late model cars I had to look twice at to tll that they weren't alloy.
