Sending mail on this forum - What am I doing wrong?????

OK just tried to PM a member and my mail does not seem to send....my message when I press submit - states it has been sent HOWEVER it is still sitting in my outbox......

Also with it sitting in the outbox (not the sent box) there does not seem to be anyway that I can send it again! Unless I go in to edit and make a minor change and then send BUT it still sits in the outbox!

Am I doing something wrong?????? I can imagine me doing something stupid but what am I doing wrong????

The only thing I can think is you're clicking on the Save Message rather than clicking on the Post Reply Button.

I know I've done it myself a few times.

That's the only thing I could think of?

Kathy,

Your not doing anything wrong.

PMs you send stay in your Outbox until they are read by the member they were sent to.

When the member reads your PM, the message is then moved to your Sentbox.

That's a way you can tell if the member you sent to PM to has read it or not. If it's still in your Outbox, it hasn't been read by the member. If it's in your Sentbox, the member has read it.

Hope this helps.

I'm sure what your saying is true about the message not going to the sent box until the person reads it.

Althought the other day The Painting Teacher sent me a PM, and for some reason I didn't receive it for several hours.

Does anyone know if PM's are only sent at certain times ?

I'm wondering if there might have been a system problem of some kind ?

I've sent a few PM's recently that have all gone through.
