RV show??

Anything spectacular out there I need to see at the Harrisburg/Hershey show? I would like to go camping, but would rather go north unless someone can convince me I should go west and see the show.
Thanks in advance for opinions.

I'm sure they'd have this there, Keystone came out with a new trailer that I think is pretty neat. I'd never buy one, but I think it's a good idea and I went inside of one before. A little cramped though. It's the Outback Loft by Keystone.

It would be an interesting time to go because the industry is getting a whipping right now with the gas prices and the types of units out there are changing and changing very rapidly. If you want to see large motorhomes at a show, this is probably one of the last years to see a wide variety.

Personally though, I'd rather go camping!

HUM, tuff decision.......................................... .....NOT !!

No 2009 Sunlines, so no need to go look at inferior rigs

Could be a great weekend to go cmping, as maybe lots of folks will go to the show and leave campgrounds pretty empty.

Last night we had dinner out at our favorite ice cream stand that's about to close for the season....and couldn't help but stop at Stoltzfus for incidentals. Ended up walking around the lot. The new V fronts are interesting and there seem to be more floorplans than were previously offered. BUT, we just didn't get that cozy feeling in ANYTHING. We even said that if we HAD to buy something, from them, that night, it would be a used Sunline. Well...unless we had won the lottery...then it would probably be the Charleston I'd say go camping. The season is getting short. But if you do go to the show, please give us a report

Hmm, Ms. Kitty, you have proven yourself. You have the ability to do some amazing things...I know there's a wait list, so get started! The only reason mine is a '08 is because it was actually constructed during the '08 model year, so it really would be like a prototype for the '09 model year, which would have started around late May/early June.

Ha Jon,

You trying to get something started ? I wonder what a 2499SR would look like ??????????

Where was that post with all the possible floor plans that we tossed around ?

And, "IF" I drag my feet long enuff (Like til the M&G) it could end up being a 2010 proto-type :P :P :P ,

But, on a different note I had a REALLY good reason to build the 2008

Also, my desk (aka workshop) is a real clutter currently. Woriking on beaded keychains to sell at the Fast Friends Greyhound Picnic (9/20) as I donate all the proceeds to the hounds.

OH, let me know when you get the LPDC hitch set up perfected, never know when I might need it

They're open until 8:00 on wednesday. They lock up the new ones, and the used are behind a locked gate. The used ones used to be left unlocked and accessible, but times have changed

Other Travel Trailers

Last week we looked at Spree fifth wheels and travel trailers. Prior to buying the Sunline, we considered a Spree. The pros were additional room to move around, great layouts, queen-size bed, larger bathroom facilities. The cons were terrible appliances with a way too small oven. We use our oven all the time in the Sunline and can't imagine having one so small. I believe the stove was a Suburban. Roof AC was Coleman, fridge was Norcold, and I can't remember the microwave brand. Having Dometic and Atwood in the Sunline and beautiful cabinetry, the Spree can't begin to compare. Then we started wondering about the componets you can't see such as water pumps and water heaters and plumbing.

We are so sorry that Sunline is out of business and I guess we will just have to find the perfect used Sunline for us. We are not in a hurry to buy another trailer and are using this time as a learning experience.

We're skipping the RV show in Hershey to play with our current toys.

We went to the RV show in Hershey yesterday. Our conclusion is that Tweety is going to have to be well maintained because she needs to last forever. There were some new little trailers by various manufactureres that were pretty cute, and some beautiful motor homes. But as far as travel trailers nothing beats the Tweety. (well, nothing that doesn't cost $80,000 and weigh 9,000 lbs ) The salesman from Boat N RV in Hamburg saw Steve's SUnline shirt and came running over to tell us that he'd give us a good deal if we have a Sunline to trade because if he has one he sells it within 2 weeks. Prices were good except on the little trailers and popups, which I thought were very expensive for what you got. We saw LOTS of sold signs on the high end motor homes and fifth wheels, but not so much on the stuff that average people would buy. One salesman told us that people came to buy on thursday and friday and were buying the expensive units, but that saturday seemed to be the average Jo out for a day at of browsing. We got to talk to the Onan guy and the Thule rep, and Steve got to play with a remote control helicopter We DID buy something though.....a folding rocking chair from Camping World

Well, I haven't seen anything comparable to the Sunline in a tow behind unit.

I would have to be going for a mid to high end Tiffin or Newmar motorhome to consider trading the Sunline in. And now IS a very good time to consider that because any motorhome dealer will do anything to sell an expensive motorhome and get it off the lot.

On the other hand, once I consider the additional costs involved and storage problems, keeping the Sunline looks like a better idea!

Help me figure out how you have an 08. I purchased my 2006 T2753 in May of 2006, and Sunline was working on the 2007 production line that summer. Then the factory closed around November 2007 and definitely before Christmas, so I am at a loss.

Please check your label and see exactly when your model was made.

Thanks- Model was the key word that I missed and understand now. The Sunline Plant has been sold, but too bad that Jon didn't purchase the palnt and make his model a reality.

I appreciate the explanation!

Well DW and I were supposed to go to the show on Saturday and look around, but i changed my mind and we took out the coach instead. Further ahead enjoying our Sunny than spending all day comparing it to new fifth wheels that are currently out of my reach. We did go to the show in York back in Feb?, to browse around. Some friends of ours have an Escalade and I was impressed by it's quality, but at around $100k it's waaaaaaay outta the budget, and it weights about a million pounds. So I wanted to see the other lines made by KZ. The only coach we found that met my standards and my budget was the Durango by KZ. Very nice and seeminly well constructed for about $45k. Well our good friends, and camping partners in crime, Amanda and I went to the show to just look. Well they ended up trading their one season old Dutchman tounge trailer for a new Spree fiver. It's KZs entry level coach, but it is nice. They have had a number of issues with it, but the dealer and KZ have stood behind it all the way. Jason really wanted a used Sunline that Stoltzfus had for sale, but they were too far backwards on the Dutchman to make it happen.
