Roof vent cover shattered

Just got back from a 700 mile round trip to Elkhorn, Iowa. When we arrived and after getting set up in the park we were outside enjoying a beverage. I happened to look up and saw that the cover over the stove vent was shattered. Must have hit a bird or something. Tomorrow we start shopping for a replacement.

We will be off to New Castle, Pa Friday for a week or so. Family reunion and wedding. First time our Sunline will have set wheel in PA since we got it in April of '07.

Well, silly me. My shopping search shows that to be the Refrigerator vent cover. Now to find one I can get and have installed by Friday.

Local RV dealer had a replacement cover. Original Dometic style no longer available but Camco makes a universal replacement. Drilled 4 little holes and it screwed right on.

Now the bad news. CHECK THE BOLTS ON YOUR EQUALIZER HITCH FOR PROPER TIGHTNESS. I lost one of the L support brackets on the equalizer hitch. Got back in the dark and didn't notice it gone until this morning.

I've put some blue Loctite on mine. They still back out a little as there's so much force from the arms sliding on the L bracket, but then they don't back out any further.

Trailblazer is an unknown quantity at this point
With regard to the L brakets coming loose on the EQ, Progress has come out with a new design that should prevent this from happening. You can order a new set directly from the progress website if you continue to have problems.

Prior to buying the 5th wheel, we found the same problem with our L brackets and used Locktite like Henry did and found it helped.

Thanks T. The bracket loss is entirely my fault for not checking the fasterners for tightness. However, I will also now use the Locktite. I will check with Progress but for now I don't have time to have parts shipped in as we leave for Pa. early Friday morning. I'll be stopping in St. Louis for the replacement parts. Between here and St. Louis I will chain up the bar.

My last pit stop yesterday was 30 miles from home so the bracket fell off between there and here.
