Questions regarding 1988 Sunline Satellite

Hello everyone;
I have owned my Sunline Satellite Model #T-2261 for nine years now, and never knew about this great forum.
I've been reading up on some of the posts and I see that somehow you can tell by the interior whether you have a deluxe edition or standard? Well, we have the Blue Velour upholstry, and I was wondering which edition that makes our camper? We also have the loose leaf binder that contains all of the booklets for the different appliances and another book titled "RV Owner's Manual" which claims to be published by intertec publishing corporation for Sunline Coach Co. I have heard some say that there was not an owners manual, so I just had to say that we do have one!
My main questions are these:
I was thinking of trying to take off the ruffly curtain type things that are around the windows and washing them. I am nervous though, because the camper is in such great shape I don't want to ruin the curtains by doing this. Has anyone had luck, (good or bad) with washing the curtains/ruffly valances around the windows? I'm hoping that anyone who has this model and around this year of TT knows what I am talking about.
My other question is regarding the two doors, which the stickers are peeling off. Would I be better off to just peel off the stickers and leave it without stickers, is there somewhere that has these stickers to replace? I heard they are hard to find.

Thanks so much for your answers....I'm so happy I found this place!

First off, Welcome to the SOC!!

Could you please take a pic of the cover for us? Also, could you see if there's a ISBN on it anywhere?

Thanks!

and here are pics of the valances I was talking about

Hope this works. I took a picture of my camper; it needs a good washing on the outside...but I love this camper. We were thinking of getting a larger one with bunk, but after finding this forum, I'm thinking we might keep this one for a while longer.

Welcome to the group. Lots of very friendly helpful folks here.

I had a wonderful little 1986 T-1661 and the door decals were also peeling badly. The best cure I found was a couple cans of that Dupli-Color car touch up paint in the spray cans. (Do they even still make/sell that stuff?)

I had to work HARD to remove the remaining original door decals, then using masking tape I masked in the area to be painted. you will have to really work to "press" the masking tape into the krinkle texture of the door. (you have to paint one at a time, putting a paper barrier over what you DO NOT want painted) and once the first one is painted, you let it dry then cover it up and paint the next color.

I had thought about using auto pin striping but was afraid it would not stick well to the krinkled texture of the door. Sure wish I had pictures of it.

Kitty

To clean the valances, you'll probably have to look underneath for brackets that hold them to the walls, remove them from the wall, and then the valance "might" just pull off the frame. I'd probably hand wash or machine wash on gentle with a mile soap.

Keep us posted on how things go.

Thanks Kitty,
I did wash the trailer today and got most of the stickers off, I'll have to keep working on them. The middle gray stripe is still in good shape its the top and bottom that have issues.
As for the valances, I checked again and they seem to be attached to whatever is behind them. They are very stiff, and I'm not sure how I could ever get them back up anyway, so I think I'm going to try to find some way to wash them while they are still attached.
Thanks for the advice, I might just take you up on that striping idea.

Tracy

Seeing pics of the interior of your rig with the velour fabric makes it the Seville model. Which, "if" memory serves me right it was the upscale model of Sunline at that time. Yours looks to be in wonderful condition. Keep us posted on your ventures.

No, the velour fabrics at the time were both for the Seville and Classic Package models. This doesn't have the classic package, but I have found numerous instances where the coaches were ordered with the velour fabrics and it was not a Seville or Classic coach.

BTW, the key sign of the Classic package is the hardwood cabinet doors, which had decoration and a much darker stain than the standard luan and quarter round hollow core doors.

The brochure we have is of the floorplans and specs is the Classic package. It says something in the brochure about picking and choosing options, so maybe that is what they did, only picking the higher quality upholstry and none of the other upgrades. This model doesn't even have an air conditioner, although it is wired for one, and we were thinking of finding out how much it would be to install one.

Thanks for all of your great feedback.

What does your trailer say on the side under the stripes & word Sunline ?

Jon is our resident Sunline historian and he knows all this stuff by sight. I doubt that there is anything about Sunlines that he doesn't know, well except for "Where" they ALL ARE
