Propane conversion

I love my 1967 Coleman two-burner and would like to use it with propane. I've seen those adaptors that allow this but don't want to spend the $$ on some half-a**ed product.
Does anyone have experience with these adaptors?

We've had the conversion for years and just love it...ours is an OLD 3 burner (side by side) and it's been repaired a few times and it is still working great!

Can you post a link to the gizmo for the conversion that you know works well? I just hate throwing away those canisters...they're so not eco friendly.

The gizmo I'm talking about is for disposable cannisters. BUT, if a disp. will fit, a line to a bulk tank will, too, right?

I've heard of people who have a little adapter to fill the little canisters from a big, re-fillable one. He would do them all the time for the Boy Scout troop, but I'm not sure how difficult it was to do as he usually did it before or after a campout.

First I’ll say it is illegal to transport a refilled 1# cylinder. That being said I refill them, it is quite easy with easily obtainable fittings you’ll need a 20# cylinder and of course an empty cylinder. Our local land fill/transfer station has plenty I look for the best ones with no rust and caps. First I put the empty ones in the freezer (don’t let your wife know what you are doing) then leave the 20# one in the sun for awhile after the little ones have gotten pretty cold screw it on the adapter turn the big one upside down turn on the valve and wait about a minute. Usually I listen to the small cylinder and when it stops making noise I know the pressure has equalized then I turn off the valve. Now I would never carry then in my camper (roll eyes) but they work great at home.
