Go to your profile and to the section where you edit your signature. Type in: [img]locationontheinternetwherethepicisstored[/img]
Make sure the pic is really small, less than 20Kb in size. To resize your pic, load it into MicroSoft Picture Editor, and select Image and then Resize. I do it in 10% increments, checking the new file size as I go.
It is pretty much the same as you insert a pic into the body of a message, but you have to type the codes manually as there is no little Img button. And ya gotta keep the pic really small.

Kathy,
You do it the same way as posting a picture in a topic.
You jost don't have the "[img]" button to help you in the signature window, so you have to manually type the "[img]" before you picutre url link and the "[/img]" after it (without the "" of course ).
Hutch
Steve and I were typing at the same time, sorry. Steve instructions are better anyway.
I have my pictures in Photobucket and resized my picture to the 160 x 63 Thumbnail size.

Kathy,
Have you posted a picture in a regular message before? If you have, it's the same procedure. You have to be a member of an image hosting site or be a member of the photo part on this site. If you are a part of the one on this site, I can't help you. I haven't used it. If you are a member of another site (such as photobucket.com, they are all free), follow John B's directions in the Sticky topic.
BTW, there are no Image Tag buttons on your profile page, so you'll have to create them yourself they are: "[img]" before the address and "[/img]" after the address, without the quotes. Most image hosting sites already put the image tags on, but if you get a picture from the internet, say a random '03 2499 SE on a website, you will have to type the first image tag, the paste the URL in, and then type the other image tag:

OK can one of your guru's look at the signature and tell me what I'm doing wrong?
Posting pictures is not my strong point!
Thanks
Kathy
OK I got the picture - and I re sized it to the smallest I could - what do I do now?
Well it re-sized itself - there must be a cyberspace genie out there!

Kathy,
It's in, but is there any chance you could crop and enlarge it? It's kind of hard for me to tell what's what. If you'd like, you could E-mail me the original pic and I'll crop & resize it.

Here is something I found out on this as well.
“Total Number of Characters” in your signature file. I first created a pic file name that was long in my photo server. When I went to “submit”, the system came back and said, Signature limit exceeded. There is a 255 character limit on your Signature and the IMG command string, the file path and the file name all eat up characters. After realizing this, I just created a new pic file with a 2 letter name and I was then under the limit.
Steve, thanks for tipping us off on this. I now see a bunch of us having this and it’s cool!!
John
PS. Ok I have kept to the 20 meg file size, but is there a preferred pixels size to not exceed? I have now done 3 of these, all 20 meg but 3 different pixel sizes. We do not want to get too carried away, or else we eat up posting space, but what guide should we use? To small and you can’t see anything, to big and it’s gets’ to be “carried away”
This one is 160 x 69
This one is 200 x 56
This one is 250 x 110

John,
My sig exceeded the max # of characters too. I had to delete the interior color and manufacturer date for each Sunline, and then it worked. I hope I don't have trouble if I add another trailer to the list!
